I wonder if Granderson's contract is too big to move. They have 5 playable outfielders.

He would be a good fit in KC and LAA.

i don't think they'll move grandy they'll just have de aza and lagares as 4th and 5th outfielders

also apparently with this signing the mets are in the top 5 in payroll man that's a weird sentence to type

Lagares is a pretty solid #3 OF.

he wasn't very good last year that's why the mets were trying to find a platoon guy to play with him. you could say that the mets are giving up on him too quickly but with his torn ucl and not getting surgery on it the mets don't want to take a chance

Damn, I just realized that they are going to play Cespedes in center. Yikes.

Structure is nice but the dollars are absurd.

The money floating around in baseball is just outrageous but what are you gonna do? Nice to see the Mets pony up to keep the guy who literally jump started their season. Here's hoping he continues to be the straw that stirs the drink for that offense.

I was thinking the same thing, SPTO.

As the years progress, I'm actually getting in favor of the salary cap.

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

I don't think the money is unreasonable for a guy that just put up a super-elite season and is on a shorter term deal. Team can't just sign him to a low AAV, low year deal. Gotta be some give somewhere.

I think a $200M salary cap could work well...

In regards to that, I think the only 2 teams that would be over $200M would be LAD and NYY...

What do you mean by that? MLB generates high revenues, part of that is spent paying the players that help generate said revenue. Nothing outrageous about that.
