Now that we moved wood and Frias over, but I feel like we still need more help. The bullpen has been our Achilles heel the last few years.

Our pitching staff doesn't have to scare you to be good. Ryu will be back this year. I think Maeda will be good. Kazmir and Anderson rounding out the rotation. We'll be fine. I could easily say the same about the Cubs. You have Arrieta and that's about it. Lester and Lackey are going to scare anyone either.

I totally forgot about Blanton. You're right.

I don't agree with that. Either one of Lester or Lackey would the #2 starter on the Dodgers right now. The Dodgers are Kershaw and an ocean of #4 starters and/or injury prone wildcards that are somewhat helped by the ballpark. Now if Urias and/or De Leon graduate and do well, then that's a lot different.

Combined with a pretty good starting 8 and a deep bullpen, LA's rotation should work in getting them to the playoffs at least. Problem is they haven't done jack in the playoffs even with all that cash and Kershaw's prime.

Interesting trade. Kinda like it for both sides. Arizona got him cheap, for his actual value, not his potential. And Stearns continues to kill it with trades. Anderson to the rotation, clears room for when Arcia comes up (Villar starts the year at short), Diaz is a decent prospect. Fully expect Hill and Gennett to have a hard platoon at 2nd, and got cash back to cover some of Hill's 12 million.

Segura makes no sense for the Dbacks. Nick Ahmed was better offensively and defensively last year. The snakes had too many infielders now they swap 1 for 1.

Ahmed and Segura were both abysmal on offense last year. 67 wRC+ for Ahmed and 62 wRC+ for Segura. Ahmed is both better on defense and cheaper, so this is at best a sideways move for Arizona. Segura has really only had 1 season of positive contributions as measured by fWAR of his 3 big league seasons. He's at + 0.2 fWAR over the past 2 seasons combined.

Anyone else think Stew is looking at their stolen base totals here? lol

That's a stat. Dave Stewart doesn't do stats.

Looks like Diaz has a positive side, I like the trade for the Brewers.

Not bad for the Brewers. Anderson is a back of the rotation guy with lots of team control, Diaz is coming off a strong year in rookie ball and the trade opens up a spot at SS for Villar or Arcia. Brewers are eating 6.5 M of the 12 M owed to Hill, who can platoon with Gennett until he gets shopped at the deadline.

For the D'backs, it only makes sense if they're setting up another deal, or were really trying to save that money.

I'm guessing Villar to start the season, Stearns said Arcia will play AAA this year.
