Who are the Cubs going to hit leadoff? Are they really thinking JHey?

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

Sure, why not. Good OBP, good runner, can steal a base and has some power.

Since his market has had 0 development this offseason the Rays have interest in Ian Desmond. 1year deal likely.

Damn, sometimes you bet on yourself and you lose big. What a disaster.

Unless something works out between them and TB. If Soler is dealt, you'd have to expect them to try to get Fowler back.

Pretty sure if Soler is traded and Javy Baez is still around he'll move to CF and Heyward slides back over to RF.

I saw on MLBN that the Cubs have spent more this offseason than any other team (I think it was around $250M). Having spent that money, do we think they got good value for it? I like the Heyward signing, but outside of that I could only think of Zobrist/Lackey.

I dunno...it just feels like they should have gotten more value for their money.

IMO Lackey deal is one of the best deals of the offseason and I'm not a fan of the guy. also got Warren/Cahill. Improved the lineup and got a solid #3 and got pitching depth because in a long regular season you probably gonna need 6/7 starters at some point.

                      I mean that's pretty good off-season.

I'd definitely be okay with that. I think Javy could be an outstanding OFer

He's actually played well in CF this winter in Puerto Rico. I wouldn't be surprised if that was the likely scenario if Soler is dealt.

This is from the end of a recent MLBTR article on the Justin Upton signing:

Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports first reported talks between the two sides. Jon Heyman reported that the two sides were nearing a deal and that Upton would be getting a long-term deal (links to Twitter). USA Today’s Bob Nightengale reported the agreement, pending a physical. Rosenthal was the first to tweet the six-year term, and Nightengale broke news of the $132.75MM guarantee (via Twitter). Rosenthal reported the opt-out clause (via Twitter), and SB Nation’s Chris Cotillo was first to mention the no-trade clause (Twitter link). Anthony Fenech of the Detroit Free Press reported the evenly distributed breakdown of the deal (Twitter link). Nightengale reported that there were no deferrals (Twitter link). Heyman reported that Upton’s partial no-trade clause allows him to block trades to 20 teams (Twitter link).
These information 'attribution wars' have gotten a little ridiculous in the age of Twitter, no? Too many "insiders" and news is too piecemeal if you ask me.

Well, better to give proper credit than not. Perhaps it needs some cleaning up in how it is written (while giving proper credit to all sources).
