What's Adam Dunn up to these days? Baltimore already tried sticking a 1B/OF at 2B with Steve Pearce and appear to really like having a deep stable of guys who can play 1B. Maybe being ultra deep at 1B is the new market inefficiency?

Again, not to seem like I'm "anti-Orioles" because I really don't care, but I really, really question their roster building strategies. Starting from letting Miller and Cruz walk from an ALCS team 2 years ago to having some extreme aversion to signing top of the rotation starting pitchers. How many years are they going to go with having a rotation full of #4s and #5s? Does not compute for me.
What other options are out there right now though? They had the perfect fit in Fowler and he bailed, so they're just playing the hand they're dealt. It was either DH Alvarez/RF Trumbo or starting oft-injured Nolan Reimold or Rule 5 pick Joey Rickard. In a perfect world we'd flip Trumbo for an actual RF, but I doubt that happens.

As for the pitchers, our owner doesn't believe in giving 6-7 year contracts to pitchers because in his mind they're never worth the contract they get. Add to that the fact that they refuse to include opt-outs and the chances of us ever signing a guy like that are next to zero so long as he's in control of the team. The no opt-out thing is idiotic, though. I don't care if it isn't team friendly, it's the cost of doing business with good players in 2016.

Wish him the best of luck wherever he plays next. Break a leg. Haha.

I'm still marveling at the fact that the Yankees basically spent $0 dollars in FA.

So remember that 3 team deal between the Angels, Jays and Reds? Well the Reds were SO ready to let Bruce go that they were going to pay 8 million bucks on Bruce's salary for the Jays just to get him out of Cincy.

Figured as much. Still wouldn't mind that happening.

Really makes me wonder what they were getting back.

I heard it was going to be a signed Eric Jagielo minor league baseball card.

Seriously. Bruce at roughly $5 million this year is a steal. If he even rebounds somewhat, the surplus value would be great.

The Rays released James Loney today. Wouldn't be surprised if he ends up in a place like Houston

Wonder if he ends up in Arizona.
