Re: 2015 MLB Hot Stove thread
Wrong, Fowler took less money because his heart is in Chicago. He makes the request to the agent and the agent then works to get what the PLAYER wants....
He got him 33 mill from Baltimore until Bmore botched the whole damn thing and left the door open for Theo to come in and sweep him up.
This is the smartest move his agent could've ever done for him. He gets 13 mill guaranteed and hits the open market in a weaker OF FA market.
This is nothing but a GREAT thing for him and his agent.
That doesn't even make sense. He could've taken $15m guaranteed and hit the market next year WITHOUT a qualifying offer. Lmfao"Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Re: 2015 MLB Hot Stove thread
By not taking the original qualifying offer in October his agent lost him 3 mil. IF he has a good year I would imagine he will recoup that and more moving into a weaker FA market next year. And he has a much better chance at a WS ring with the Cubs than he would have with the O's.Comment

Re: 2015 MLB Hot Stove thread
Unfortunately, the thing that has most hampered Soler's ability to prove himself is....Jorge Soler. He's had trouble staying healthy, trouble hitting for power, trouble being at all interested in playing defense, and trouble with maintaining any semblance of consistency in his game from week to week, month to month. I give him a little bit of a pass for still being pretty young (he's only 24) and inexperienced, but I wouldn't mind dealing him and his potential upside for top shelf pitching.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

Re: 2015 MLB Hot Stove thread
What world am I living in that Blue Jay and Cubs fans are laughing at other team's front offices!?
IMO, Baltimore dodged a bullet with Fowler...he's not a bad player, but when you have a CF who is supposed to lead off I want a guy who can play defense (he can't) and doesn't strike out (he does). If he doesn't hit for power (67% of homers have been hit at home in his career...slugging is 100 points lower on the road) he loses most of his offensive value. I don't see him excelling in a place like Baltimore."People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. Scenario B: Fowler signs deal, enters FA WITH a QO next year. Same thing happens.Last edited by AC; 02-27-2016, 12:15 AM."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Re: 2015 MLB Hot Stove thread
Our season is destroyed and it's constantly being rubbed in my face for no reason. Yes I'm mad. I don't get why people can't just let it go and move on. I'm surprised that this many people hate the Orioles and liking teams that everyone hates can be extremely stressful, so regardless of what happened this situation sucks.
