Re: 2015 MLB Hot Stove thread

Jays finishing up the obvious part of the offseason moves, picking up the team options of Dickey,Bautista,EE. The Bautista/EE deals were a huge steal obviously.

So the Jays 2-3-4 hitters, who hit more home runs than 6 teams in the league, will be making under 40M COMBINED next year.

3 days left to try and re-sign their GM,or else teams can start talking to him. Hurry up and keep him!

Sources are saying that in their only meeting Shapiro scolded AA for blowing up the farm system this season. Also if the Jays want a developmental approach Ben Cherrington is available.

Just gotta say I'm loving all the Brewers hires so far... We have now have a super young and upcoming GM, very highly regarded assistant GM, highly regarded pitching coach and a really solid bench coach we've been after since May.

Really looking forward to seeing what unfolds in Milwaukee this Offseason.

Ya, scold a guy for trading prospects to get 2 of the best players at their respective positions, trade for the AL mvp, make the playoffs, and come 2 wins away from the world series......This is Toronto, your teams are supposed to suck,so out you go!

Only thing to make this worse, would be leafs/raptors getting a president who has 0 experience in sports.....wait,that just happened today also. I hate today & toronto sports ownership!

I don't know if Shapiro even understands the psyche of the fanbase here. We NEEDED to make a postseason berth just to relieve the pressure of years of not making it. I also don't understand Shapiro scolding AA because AA basically said in the last couple days that the farm system is still pretty well stocked. It's not like he completely emptied it out.

Oh well....I have a feeling we'll end up with a very conventional GM heading forward.

That press conference next week when they introduce Shapiro will be interesting. He just immediately put himself on the hot seat.

I have mixed feelings. AA had a great trade deadline but the rest of his tenure wasn`t that good. I wanted him gone in the summer. But once they went for it, he had to go all in so I don`t think the criticism from Shapiro is fair (if it`s even in true).

BTW I know Cherington's name was mentioned (I don't think he'd want to be an underling to Shapiro either) but here's another name to throw out: Dan O'Dowd. He and Shapiro crossed paths in Cleveland.

                          Cherington already found a job.

Sounds like AA to Dodgers? Nice big budget for him to work with

He'd only be among many chefs in the kitchen. There's also rumors of working with Billy Beane in Oakland.

Just hope whoever takes over for jays doesn't mess things up. But now i doubt jays even make an offer for price. Who knows if he'd consider it either way,but seems like shapiro was the one person not a fan of jays deadline.
