Verlander/Tillman were a pleasure to watch tonight. 6 in a row.

A day after Randall Grichuk just misses taking away a HR vs LAA, he robs Howie Kendrick of one.

Is there a reason that I still watch the Braves? They are easily one of the worst 5 teams in the modern era and it's not like I'm getting to watch a lot of young players grow on a game by game basis. It'd be nice if they could just forfeit the rest of the year so I didn't sit here and watch them day after day.

Because if/when they're good, it'll make it that much sweeter.

Exactly! If you only watch your team during the "good" times, how much of a fan are you really? I've had various teams I root for suck and I've also seen teams I root for win championships. There is nothing so sweet as watching a team that was bad become good, a team that always came up short finally getting over the hump. Are the Braves hard to watch right now? Yes, absolutely...but in some ways I'm more excited now than ever because of the future.

Braves, Redskins, Pistons, Miami football.... outside of Miami baseball I've had a rough go with sports the last decade or so(even then it wasn't as good). The Predators are good, but I only started really following them 5 years ago so I am not as "attached" to them yet.

Hopefully this rebuild is a success because this team has been the hardest to watch out of any of the teams I pull for and it's only been a quarter of the season just about. With other sports you can turn it around quickly with some moves, a nice recruiting class, coaching change, whatever. There is so much unpredictability with prospects, pitchers falling off so quickly, etc. that as much as I want to get excited about the awesome farm system, I'm trying to temper my expectations.

If all of this eventually does lead to success in a few seasons, then it'll be worth it. I don't see how it could get any worse, but hopefully it doesn't stay bad for years and years.

                    This.

I became an Orioles fan in 2004 and had to watch all the garbage teams, 30-3 game, etc...going from that to sitting in Camden Yards before their first home playoff game in 15 years with 46,000 people losing their minds was so damn rewarding (within the context of sports, obviously).

Yeah, look how much fun the all of a sudden very boisterous Cubs fans are having. It's like they've never lost anything.

Yelich takes Strasburg out of the yard in the 1st to celebrate him getting that new contract.

Nicolino walking himself into big trouble in the bottom half.

Jake's getting that sinker up - even above the strikezone at times. Still getting outs, so whatever works I guess.

Now 2-0 Pirates, only one out. Getting hit by the heart of the Pittsburgh order. And a lucky DP that bounces off Arrieta and right to Zobrist to get out of it.

No doubter from Rizzo. 3-2 Cubs.
