Kershaw with his 6th straight game of 10+ Ks. This man is still the best pitcher in baseball, as much as I love Arrieta.
More impressive...he has 88 K's and 4 walks. Ya, just a cool 22:1 K/BB ratio. I think you can be successful with that.

Kershaw is in a league of his own.

After an 11 K 0 BB night, Kershaw now has 88 Ks and 4 BBs this season. Stupid silly good.

I think I read he has 4 bbs all season. Yes, that's ridiculous.

Edit: Sports, beat me to it.

It's so impressive that it almost needs to be mentioned in back-to-back-to-back posts like Tom Emanski's back-to-back-to-back AAU National Championships.

Kershaw sports a cool 1.48 FIP and had 2.9 fWAR before tonight (probably add another ~0.5 onto that). So, he's got over 3 WAR and it's not even Memorial Day. He might have 4 WAR 2 months into the season. My math says that he's on pace for a 12 WAR season? Stop it

              Counterpoint: Bryce Harper.

If his OBP keeps inching closer to .500 and his BABIP luck turns around (.253 BABIP and yet 2 fWAR so far?), look out. He might be the best hitter since juiced up Barry Bonds. Better than prime Pujols and better than anything Trout has done.

Harper and whoever ends up being the best position player on the Cubs are probably the two frontrunners.

Unreal finish in Oakland...Khris Davis hits his 3rd homer of the night, a walk off grand slam, to win the game 8-5. I don't watch Texas that often, but every time I do their closer (Tolleson) just sucks. How can they keep running that guy out there?

just the fact Arrieta is in the conversation w/Kershaw shows you how good his last 2 years have been. Kershaw is absurd.

They're a year older. When your core group is on the wrong side of 30, that's a problem.

What's up with the A's having players hitting their 3rd HR and it also being a walk-off lately? That's twice in a week, right?

Twice in three days. Sundays was on the road though so not exactly walk off.

I was at tonight's game. Sat behind the dugout. Got to see pie live.
