Just watched that video. There is no way that ball went 491 feet.

Yes, I am questioning Statcast on this. This coincides with my belief of the time it got Kris Bryant's scoreboard shot wrong.

Note that I am not taking away the impressiveness of the home run at all, but rather I am raising a feud with the technology if we are led to believe it. I guess I am judging from my eye or what have you, but I cannot compute that shot as anywhere near 500 feet, personally. If it said 460 feet, I'd believe that much more.

EDIT: Hittrackeronline.com has it at 453 feet.

When you put the range wings into play, it really starts to create perspective on how much closer lines are from power alleys.

Prince Fielder hit a home run at the beginning of the year in the upper deck in RCF that was estimated at 449 feet.

Looking at the display, you can see how it really does relate to the home run that Mazara hit yesterday.

I still think this is the farthest home run of the year so far, no matter whether the distance is truly 475 feet or 490 feet.

The Reds may never win again.

Losing streak stands at 10 now.

No idea what this team is trying to pull.

Braves own the #1 pick next year.

Dodgers calling up Urias to pitch tomorrow, definitely will be tuned into that one.

Also, just read a fangraphs article that says Andrew Miller has a higher O-Swing% than Z-Swing%, which means hitters swing more at his pitches out of the zone than they swing at his pitches in the zone, and that he leads the league in both categories. That's amazing. Come get your closer Cubs.

Mike Leake will try to stop our streak of allowing 6 run innings at two tonight when we face the Nationals.

Gerrit Cole went deep today for the 2nd time in his career.

Speaking of the Twinkies...what's up with their young guys? Buxton has been horrible (since demoted I believe but raking in AAA - kind of like Jesus Montero 2.0) and Sano is fringe average.

Moose out for the year with a torn ACL. Same collision where Gordon broke his wrist.

Nothing to see here. Everyone ignore the Twins please. Thanks.

Mike Moustakas out with torn ACL. Most likely done for the year.

The book is definitely out on Keuchel now. No pitcher in baseball other than Francisco Liriano threw more pitches out of the strike zone than Keuchel last year. And hitters are adjusting against him by swinging at fewer pitches out of the zone, which is driving his walk rate way up. He's going to have even more trouble adjusting back when MLB pulls up the strike zone next year.

Ya, because they aren't playing the Cubs...if they don't show up against the Cubbies the rest of the year, the NLC won't be much of a race.

Nice to see the Jays take 2 out of 3 against the Fankees! Great pitching by the starters in 2 of the 3 games too.
