I'd say Encarnacion since Ortiz is, ya know, retiring.

Leon extends the lead with a double.

Jays still have a shot even though they're down 11-8 but I think the Sawx will close the door on em. If the Jays do come back and win that would be YUUUUUGE but i'm not holding my breath.

They really need to beat up on the Rays starting tomorrow.

Beat up on everyone from here on out. They better not blow this year. Could be last time in who knows how long that they're contenders, and if Rogers seriously thinks fans will be patient in a rebuild with premium pricing tickets, then enjoy those 20,000 crowds again.

Damn good game of baseball happened amidst all that football. What an emotional ride that was. I need a nap.

That's the kind of win you need in September! Damn!

Sounds like hordes of Cub fans have invaded Houston. Kris Bryant's RBI double just now was pretty loud. Also seems like a late-arriving crowd.

Cubs working Mike Fiers over. Looking to cut that magic # to 5.

EDIT: Addison Russell hit one onto the train tracks in LF. Oh my.

Sox start another big series tonight with the O's. If everything goes to plan, they can bring the Tigers back into the Wild Card, and then knock the Yankees out this weekend. Enough with all of this "4 horse race" crap.

They're still holding onto a playoff spot despite these major struggles from major players. They better get it together asap.

They're 63-38 in starts in which he gets a hit. This slump has probably taken him out of the MVP discussion unfortunately, but these numbers obviously prove how valuable he is to the team.

Speaking of which, he's out of the lineup tonight vs the Rays. Maybe dealing with some kind of injury, and finally decides to sit one out?

You'll find similar splits for most players though...for example, look at Encarcion's stats:

                          Wins - 320/401/667 27 HR/85 RBI

                          Losses - 203/303/398 12 HR/30 RBI

I've always seen that over the years...it's like when a team loses NO one plays well!

Hanley Ramirez has a bazillion home runs over the past few weeks. Feels like everything he hits is solid contact lately.

Joey Votto's stats in the 2nd half are insane...guy's hit .418 and has a BABIP of .438.

                              That's just...holy crud.

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

If we played like this the whole season, we'd have a 16 game lead.
