          Stupid Yankees blow another one.

Can red Sox stop winning? Also, can Rays win every game for remainder of year?

Better luck next year, Yankees. Proud that they didn't lay down after all the BS. Good for them.

Hoping Toronto wins the division and that Detroit and Seattle end up as the Wild Card Gimmick teams. But I figure Boston will win the division at least.

If red Sox win division, I'd hope it's jays vs O's in WC in Toronto. Os are worst team in a playoff spot on the road.

Jays have never been a WC team in franchise history, though ended up with short end of the stick a number of times in franchise history where they would've been a WC team had the WC existed back then. And even those Sox/Yankees dominant years, had 2wc spots been there, it'd be much more realistic shot at playoffs instead of knowing you had to basically be a top 2 team in AL to make playoffs.

Would be interesting. Jays as WC team for first time ever, and if they win, play the Rangers in an ALDS rematch/first game since the Odor-Bautista incident.

Jake Arrieta is gonna start to regret not signing that extension last year.

                Didn't he want 7 years?

"Kirby Yates sucks, but if he can go out there and get this one guy, then I can go to Layne for the 2 lefties and I can still go back to both of them the next day"

This is the kind of stuff he's trying to pull off. Is it smart? I think yes because the reality is we don't have anybody left. I'm sure if Joe still had Chapman we wouldn't have seen that train wreck 9th. If we had Miller we wouldn't have to overwork Dellin so much. He makes some super questionable decisions and like I said yesterday's loss is on him, but it's not like he's leaving Mo on the bench. He's trying to take the scrap heap of arms he has in the bullpen and combine that with inconsistent starting pitching.

In the beginning of the year, the only strength we had was leading after 6 innings we knew the game was over but even then we had trouble getting there. Now we don't even have that lock down.

Tanaka gets tired the other day and wants to come out, he does it. Now we had a 4 run lead and 6 outs to go. Every single person he brought in the game after that point struggled, minus Layne. He shouldn't have taken Layne out, but when you throw out 4 relievers and they can't hold a 4 run lead with 2 innings, you're out there with a knife in a gun fight. And when you add in the fact that Dellin was exhausted, it was basically a butter knife. I don't know, I guess it's because I've been expecting this team to crash and burn for years now and it never does, and I think Girardi is a big part of that. This guy is turning water to wine but as soon as he hands the cup back and it's still water people want his head.
Joe has probably lost at least 4 games for this team. From his flirtation with Swarzak, which was indefensible. To his dumb lineup management logic batting McCann and Tex back to back. Two all or nothing hitters. You don't bat two black holes back to back.

And then yesterday, Cessa is at 63 pitches, and joe pulls him, OK, young rookie pitching to the best lineup in baseball, for the 3rd time around, maybe you bring in a good reliever. So he brings in freaking Pazos to face Ortiz? Why because he just happens to be born left handed. I'm more confident in a rookie Cessa, then Pazos.

Lately Joe's bullpen logic hasn't just been bad, it's irrational. From bringing in Yates to going to Nick Goody. These aren't rational decisions.

Joe is a match-up whore, and just burns through relievers, because he has new toys, you can argue Joe has done well with some mediocre teams, but imo, it's time for a new look. Girardi is getting stale.

James Paxton has retired all 15 batters he faced through 5 innings.

It's that time of year, injuries starting to pile up. Yankees lost Castro and Ellsbury today.

Nobody wants to play Oakland right now. Yes Oakland.

He went from just below to Kershaw to still an elite starter. I think he'll be fine his problem is his age not his performance this year in regards to the contract extension.

Indians pitching staff is falling apart. Horrible time. I was looking forward to watching these guys pitch in the playoffs.
