It also already matters to win your division because being in a wild card game means losing your ace before a best of 5 series. That's devastating about to go on the road for a short series.

In other news, I'm throwing any excess rooting power I have behind the Astros. Looking at schedules (and I know how ridiculous and farfetched this is), Detroit has a set against the Indians coming up who hopefully will help us out, and the Astros and the Mariners play each other soon. So if the Indians can take out the Tigers, the Astros can take out the M's and we go on another hot streak and take care of the Jays and Orioles, this could still happen!

More realistically, I need the Nats to stop trying to give their seed away. Dodgers won again, 2.5 games back, Nats going to Pittsburgh with 10 to play. Hopefully they win this series, the Dodgers lose theirs, and if all goes well, I can get my NLDS tickets on Monday.

**** the Orioles, they decided to honor Ortiz (which is garbage in the first place) by showing a bunch of home runs against the Yankees... I guess all the money our fans give them when we come into town isn't appreciated. Having been there in person, its shocking to me that they would even imply that they have home fans to impress, nobody cares about them, they can't fill their own stadium without the other teams help, and they've been a garbage organization my entire life while being 5 hours away from me. **** them. I do like Camden yards though, it's nice to have somewhere to hang with other Yankees fans without having to drive all the way to NY.

So much anger in this post

I agree about O's fans. Place was half empty for the whole 4 game series. And half of those who did show up were Sox fans. I believe Adam Jones even called out the fans for it.

At least from what little i've seen Clevelanders have finally cottoned onto the fact that the Indians are really good but man, it's disappointing to see some contending teams have such crappy attendance.

If it was the Red Sox, I would be angry but more in a competitive way. This is anger in a "your little brothers friend saw you lose a game of Madden and is now acting like hes the one who beat you" lol, the O's aren't ****, who are they poking fun at? I'd take **** from TB before Baltimore, at least they have an excuse and actually made a WS in the last decade.

I don't want to go in on the Orioles but it's like I was saying with the CP3 memes making fun of him not making it to the CF. If LeBron or D Wade are doing it, it's kinda funny, playful jabbing. If a rando with no job is dialing up memes in his infinite free time, he needs to get jumped on next. In his career, he slashes 269/379/523 with 55 and 177 against the Orioles and 307/397/574 with 53 and 171 against the Yankees. Theyre making fun of us because we actually made it to the point where people remember him doing well against us instead of at home every October trying to fight the Nationals over regional TV rights.

It feels nice, but a bit odd, having clinched so early and now being able to control St. Louis' fate. A Cub fan could get used to this feeling, lol.

Big 4 game series between Jays-Yankees begins today. If Jays want to maintain 1st place in the WC, they have to win at least 3 games in this series.

Only positive about not being in the division race is that it might lead to the Jays getting an extra win in Boston next weekend if the Red Sox decide to just sit guys and play their AAA team because they can't change their standing in any way.

                    It's not that serious brah.

And as far as the bolded, GTFO. He's an all-time great so the team honored him.

LOL you have no idea how serious I'm even taking it so how would you know? I never get why people on the internet think they know how you feel through words, I'm not outside Orioles Park with a molotov cocktail. It's as serious as I want to take it, which isn't very serious in the first place given how little I think about the Orioles in the first place, for reasons unrelated to this.

Secondly, I honestly don't care. I've seen much better players than David Ortiz retire and they got a round of applause when they left the field and that was it. I didn't care for the Mo stuff, Jeter stuff, and especially the Kobe stuff. This is competition, we don't need to show a highlight reel of you and your accomplishments over the years, they can handle the video packages at Fenway where the fans love you. I can't wait to see what bull**** they've got planned for him on the 29. Doesn't make any sense.

The next ten games are the Blue Jays' Waterloo. Hopefully we turn out like Wellington rather than Napoleon.

As far as the Ortiz thing goes, I don't mind honoring him. He's a first ballot HOFer IMO no matter what you think of him. (and this is coming from a guy who isn't his greatest fan either)

Do you mean you think he should be a first ballot hall of famer or you think he definitely will be? He'll be an interesting case, that's for sure.

He should and will be, just being in Boston alone ups his chances significantly.

And being named on one of the early steroid reports and being a DH significantly hurts his chances.
