The Jays are starting to play better baseball and the wounded are slowly coming back. The thing is, has their putrid start and the fact that AL East is really competitive going to hinder their playoff chances? Jays management may be in a bind come the trading deadline but that's still a ways off. They just got to keep playing very consistent baseball and hope to grab one of the wild card spots.

Local hero Joey Votto comes home for a 3 game set and the Jays tangle against the Baby Bombers for 4 games before going on a west coast trip to Oakland and Seattle to finish off the 5/29-6/11 period.

Trout done for now...he has a tear of his UCL in his thumb and will go on the DL. Surgery a possibility.

In two weeks, the two players on track to be the AL MVP and NL MVP both suffered long-term hand injuries which will derail their respective campaigns and (likely) keep them out of All-Star festivities.

And oh yeah, they're probably my two favorite players in the entire sport.

This sport blows.
