Newcomb with a rough outing today.

I bet this entire staff hates pitching in Atlanta because we're awful.

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

This is what happens when Newcomb faces an actual good lineup and not the Padres. Should've held onto Colon and gone for the best draft pick possible.

LOL...he was going to have a rough outing (news flash, it won't be the last of his career either) at some point. He's pitching against one of the best lineups in baseball. He actually made some great pitches and they just beat him on them...and Brandon Phillips didn't help him at all tonight. It's one game...let's not overreact.

I wasn't being that serious. No one in there right mind could be serious and say that Colon should have been kept. I am being serious that I wish this team would play worse so we could get a top 3 pick. Finishing the season .500 does nothing to help your club.

I am serious about the home park. Seems like the pitching staff is doing a lot worse at home vs. road.

Man, Dave Roberts is in a tough situation. Kershaw has a No-No going but his pitch count is really up there. I know he's pulled guys in the midst of no hitters but you just can't do that with a HOF guy like Kershaw can you?

EDIT: tough way to lose that No Hitter. Oh well, least it saves Roberts from looking like a bit of a villain.

Bellinger blew that...what the heck is a 1B doing going after a routine grounder to 2B? What an awful play...

Was it Girardi a few years back that pulled CC in the 8th even with a no-no?

There's a report that the Cards are eying Josh Donaldson. I wouldn't hold my breath Cardinals fans. The Jays are in that weird middle ground where they want to add pieces that can help them now and in the future. There's no way they trade Donaldson unless the Cards give away a king's ransom.

At work getting updates, the Yankees are losing, then... The chosen one, Judge breaks through with a 2 run homer. He's ruining the season for me, I can't even properly sulk after losses, this guy is going to be great for too long.

Judge is now the face of the franchise and he's going to totally demolish DiMaggio's rookie HR record for the Yankees. This guy is going to be a mix of Babe Ruth and Derek Jeter in public perception and love by the media.

Then the Yankees bullpen blows it. I remember a day when Betances/Chapman meant game over.

Wow, Lackey actually kept the Cubs in a baseball game. Wouldn't say he pitched all that well, but nothing like the early-inning poundings he's been taking most of the season.

Strop gets the win in relief as the Cubs hang 7 on the Rays' pen.

Rays really need to sort that pen out if they want to stay in the Wild Card chase, it's a mess.

                                He's might even have a shot at McGwire's 49.

50 HR is a lot these days but with the juiced balls this year I think it's within reach. He's for sure got a legit shot at being only the second in history to break 40.

If only he'd had signed with the A's when they drafted him. Being a local and chasing McGwire would be a fun story. Just another fish that got away though.
