You guys seem to be this year's version of the 2016 Cubs. Let's see if LA can get over the hump--haven't been to the World Series since they won it all in 1988 despite 10 playoff berths.

With Alex Wood switching on Cy Young Mode (10-0 with 1.67 ERA/2.05 FIP, 50 hits allowed in 80 IP), they finally have the right kind of starting rotation to survive a short playoff series.

We still need a few things, but otherwise we are pretty solid from top to bottom. Still might try and get another starter and a bullpen piece. Need a RH bat still we'll see how the deadline goes in a few weeks.

Eventually Kershaw will have a dominant postseason (just as A-Rod finally got over the hump in October) and that's basically two Ws- when he's on- unless you can get to the bullpen pre-Jansen somehow).

As you said, Alex Wood has been elite and the #3 guy will be picked probably based on team matchups, An upgrade to middle relief is probably all they need.

Don't forget Bonds. He also broke out in a postseason and did well. The greats generally don't completely fizzle in the postseason in their career if they get enough chances at it.

It's a long season...Dodgers look great now, but are they peaking too early? This reminds me of the stretch they had in 2013 where they went 53-13 over a two month stretch.

It's time to completely blow the Mariners up and start a total rebuild. No one should be untouchable. I have seen enough to know that this team is not going anywhere anytime soon. And the cupboard is pretty bare as far as prospects go, other than Lewis and O'Neill. And Lewis probably wont be u p untill June or July of next season, he just returned from an ACL injury he sustained last September, and O'Neill has struggled a bit this year. As for pitching, well we don't have any worth a damn who is close to MLB ready other than Thyago Vieira but he and his 103 MPH heater is a reliever.

Just do what the Cubs and Astros did, blow up the team, lose 95-100+ games for 5-6 years draft well, collect the prospects, then kill it. Mariners 2022 World Series champs

That Melancon trade to the Nationals is looking nice for the Pirates now. I liked Mark, but Rivero pumping in 100-102mph gas? Damn.

Never understood why teams are so willing to trade high level prospects for middle of the road relievers. Boggles my mind.

So I just turned on Cubs-Pirates and I really wish I hadn't. Cubs getting their brains beat in 10-0 in the 2nd inning. Jon Lester didn't make it out of the 1st inning. When it rains on this team, it really does, lol.

Mookie hit his 11th leadoff homer today, moving him past Ellsbury for most all-time in Boston.

Anyone else notice the last few weeks anytime a Braves pitcher gets an 0-2 count they tend to throw a lot of hittable fastballs?

Oh yeah, that was when everyone was convinced Yasiel Puig was going to become the best player in the world.

He's still riding that reputation, somehow.
