Yeah, I mean that's my point. I don't think it's Stanton but rather how he meshed with the coaching staff and upper management not liking how Barry worked every day...I read one article saying he didn't have the "work ethic necessary" and didn't like that he didn't watch enough film or something. Whatever the reason, I think some MLB reporter ought to research it and do a story on it (Rosenthal) as I think it's nonetheless, interesting. I mean, what effect would Barry have on the team now as they cleary were better year-over-year in 2016 and Stanton is giving all credit to Barry. Is he really a good coach that could help another team? There's so many storylines!

I'm starting to get like Blzr talking about Barry...better stop before I get ahead.

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

Eesh! Well, hopefully he pitches poorly the rest of the year then so we don't get trapped into signing him to any kind of deal.

The Pirates are one more play away from invoking Yakety Sax music this inning. Some really weak defense here from the Buccos.

Cubs became the first team in MLB history to have 5 players under 25 hit 20 HRs in a season (Happ, Baez, Schwarber, Contreras, Bryant)

Angels/A's game was insane tonight. Trout had an unbelievable game and finished a double shy of the cycle. Had 4 runs and a walk too. Pujols with 2 homers. Angels jumped out to an early lead, A's had a massive fourth inning putting up 8 runs to go up 8-3, Angels come back in the 8th capped off with a ****in' CLIFF PENNINGTON grand slam.

                Holy cow.

Happ is also the fastest in Cubs history to 20 HR. This is the first team in Cubs history to have 6 players with 20+ homers (add Rizzo in with your other 5).

I realize that posting about this will immediately cause the Cubs to go into a funk, but they've actually been the most productive offense in baseball in the 2nd half: 75 homers (2nd), .352 wOBA (2nd), 115 wRC+ (2nd), 10.2 WAR (1st). Baltimore is ahead of the Cubs in some categories, but I give the Cubs the nod due to doing it w/o the DH.

The Dodgers are done, by the way. A lowly 91-40 record after a 4-game skid. Barely 50 games over .500

I turned it off when Dull hit Pujols. I knew it wasn't gonna end well. Just didn't expect a Pennington GS to be the death blow.

Offense has gone dormant lately. Was bound to happen though. Kershaw and Wood are coming back this weekend and Bellinger came back last night so hopefully we can get back on track.

Unfortunately they have to go 26-5 in order to break 2001 Seattle's record...hard to see that happening, especially with resting guys. I thought they had a chance a few weeks ago, but not so much now.

Dansby Swanson had a great month of august.

64 PAs, 18% BB rate, 14% K rate and a split line of .328/.443/.453...granted, his BABIP was almost .400 but I love the BB/K rate.

Tropicana Field just took a home run away from Joey Gallo...he hit one a mile, except it hit one of the catwalks in play and dropped onto the field for only a double. That's so bush league...
