Nice to see Justin Grimm in there giving up homers. I think we're just keeping Grimm around to make Justin Wilson feel that he's not the worst pitcher on the team. Come to think of it, I may be racist against Cubs pitchers named "Justin".

Cubs gonna gain on St. Louis for the first time in a while. Nice to push them to 3 games back with only 17 to go.

Dansby Swanson continues to impress...I didn't think his demotion to the minors would help but it really renewed a focus with him. Most importantly, I can finally see him at the plate with a plan - great BB/K rate to show for it, too.

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

I find myself much---MUCH---more impressed with what Albies is doing. Glad to see Swanson is starting to get it better though.

We are 3 games back of the Cubs and 3 1/2 back of the Rockies for a wildcard spot.

Need a win today against the Reds to stay at least3 back of the Cubs before our weekend showdown in Chicago.

Glasnow got knocked around last night. A lot of the Pirates "can't miss prospects" are turning out to be duds.

I remember when I suggested he should go back to the minors to work on his game and renew confidence in himself and I was shouted down by Braves fans. It's great to see Swanson has responded so well and is living up to some of the potential that people saw in him when he first came up.

Glasnow always had that caveat--that all the upside was based on him actually throwing strikes. His career 5.38 BB/9 at the MLB level indicates he's probably going to be a bullpen arm at some point. Either that or he figures out how to throw more strikes.

The Cardinals just Will. Not. Go. Away.

Not that this surprises me in the least.

                      Cards win and Rockies lose.

2 games behind Rox for 2nd wildcard

Jen-Ho Tseng making his first career start tonight for the Cubs. Gives up a run without a hit and throws 30 pitches in the 1st. 2 strikeouts also.

Ender Inciarte is incredible...he just robbed Jayson Werth with an amazing, leaping catch.

Tseng is not a MLB quality pitcher.
