That SF rotation looks real shaky now.

They may all be meaningful, but that doesn't mean:

            1) Some aren't without meaningless nuggets.

            2) There aren't some more meaningful than others... such as twenty weekends from now, on a particular Saturday in August. Need I say more? I don't think I need to say more.

New report says MadBum will be out at least 2 months after he had surgery for his hand.

If his hand is good enough to go dirt-biking, then MadBum... let'er rip! Even if you break a couple of ribs or something, you're going to be out anyway, so you might as well go ridin'!

MadBum... that's such a dumb nickname. That's the first time I ever said that too.

Well I suppose it's better than Mad ***.

Can you imagine Joe Buck going crazy over a virtuoso performance by the Mad *** Ace of the Giants?

Phillies have signed Scott Kingery to a six-year deal through 2023 that includes club options for 2024-26. Extends control by three seasons. He'll open the year with the team.

Ohtani's making the roster for LAA. I would've thought they'd put him in AAA so he could actually build up some confidence and in terms of pitching he could get some innings that wouldn't negatively affect the club.

They don't seem to want to take it slowly, seems they see it as an embarrassment for Ohtani to have to start in AAA after all the hype (plus too much merchandise money on the line?). That would be short sighted.

Send him to AAA and let him built up his confidence like SPTO says and get acclimated and then hopefully he quickly dominates the competition in AAA and you bring him right up.

Nobody is going to care if he plays a month in the minors if he's playing well in the majors in August.

I was reading this on ESPN and they didn't even mention the option years, lol. It would make zero sense to sign a player with no service time to a 6-year contract without those team-friendly option years tacked on at the end.
