It was only a matter of time until something devastating happened to this team, I guess.

From the same Venezuelan reporter who was first with Acuña's callup:

Me dicen que resonancia magnética de Ronald Acuña salió bien. Solo sufrió unos golpes, debe recibir unos pocos días para que la rodilla desinflame. Mañana le dirán cuántos días serán.
I'm told that Ronald Acuña magnetic resonance went well. He only suffered a few blows, he must receive a few days for the knee to deflate. Tomorrow they'll tell you how many days they'll be.

I just assumed he was referring to the Braves/Acuna's injury.

Kuhl not missing many Cub bats so far. One HR that counted (Rizzo), and one taken off the board thanks to LF Corey Dickerson.

Braves down 2-0 and both runs courtesy of the poor defense (Swanson error/Tucker bad read). Fried is actually pitching really well, IMO.

Just saw that Acuna play from yesterday, and yeesh that looked like a football or basketball injury and a pretty gruesome one. Apparently it's an ACL sprain among other things. Lucky he avoided worse.

Also, Mike Montgomery with one of the better starting efforts of the season for the Cubs today. Sure, it's Pittsburgh so maybe it doesn't count. But, I'd rather have Monty start than any of Darvish/Quintana/Chatwood at this point.

Joe and/or Rizzo are so getting ejected if this is ruled a DP.

Call stands. It was a weird DP turn attempt - home to first and the catcher's throw went into RF scoring 2. Rizzo slid into home, taking out the back of Diaz' leg (which was in the path, Rizzo didn't go out of his way)

Great job of pitching by deGrom. His slider/cutter was on point in the 7th.

Prime opportunity wasted by Atlanta to tie the game.

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

As good as he pitched, Dansby should have never swung at that pitch. He clearly had made his mind up to swing before the pitch. That ball was never a strike and that was all mental for Dansby. Atrocious game for him and right now he's nearly the sole reason this will be a loss if the score holds.

I want to like Dansby...I do. He makes it really hard...his error is the reason we are losing and his piss poor at bat kept it that way. He's consistently inconsistent and it's maddening.
