What a thorough *** kicking last night. I know it's the Padres, but still.

For as much hand-wringing has been done about Dansby he's been finding his stroke since the past week.

Freddie Freeman is the best 1B in the game.

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

With Goldschmidt struggling so far this year, I'd have to agree with you...Freddie has been tremendous the last 3 years.

Yes, and the crazy thing is that by the metrics he's been just as good with the glove as Simmons. They both have a 1.1 DWAR and are around 8 runs saved on the season.

June 6th...........344/.374/.568 That's Matt Kemp's statistics through the first 2 months with a 1.8 fWAR. Who would have though that coming into the year?

Not a surprise to me. Matt can still rake...when he's healthy. His only problem with us was staying healthy...he would hurt his hammy's, get out of shape real fast, and then he was very one dimensional. I'm glad to see him healthy and raking.

That was always the issue in his down years as well. Couldn't stay healthy. Still should have been the MVP in 2011. Another discussion for another day.

Kemp has a .400 BABIP so far so he's going to fall back to reality soon enough to be around the same offensive numbers he had last year before the year is out, I feel like. His defense has improved though since he lost some weight and got into better shape.

Mets have reportedly had internal discussions about releasing Jose Reyes.

Freeman doing Freeman things in the 1st and then Folty looking absolutely filthy. Good start.

I think in all honesty that our improved defense with Cano being out has somewhat offset the loss of his offensive production. Getting Gordon out of CF and putting him at 2B and having Heredia who is one of the better defensive CF around play CF every day has vastly improved our defense, in 2 positions...

But is it sustainable? These are the questions we need to ask when considering the Astros or the M's.

I'm still waiting for the 2015 Astros to come back down to earth in their production.
