Pedro is great...very candid with his analysis and thorough in his explanation. A-Rod can do the same thing but he keeps being superficial.

There are still times that A-Rod shows his baseball smarts without being nice and pleasing everyone (his comments about Charlie Morton during the Sawx/Astros game was very incisive) but yeah, this is pretty much just him positioning to get a coaching or managerial job down the line.

Totally agree about Pedro though. It's too bad that the suits would never hire him as a guy in the booth due to his accent.

I don't think Pedro would suit a booth. I think he's perfect where is as an analyst that can spend the time explaining mechanics of pitching/hitting.

Daniel Poncedeleon has been called up by the Cardinals.

For those unfamiliar, he suffered a severe head injury that required brain surgery after being struck by a line drive last May.

        Rooting for this kid.

That's the kind of story one needs to hear of more often. I hope he does well.

I don't really mind the Matt Vasgersian/A-Roid/Jessica Mendoza group. I think Rodriguez struggles a bit relating to hu-mans, so he comes off pretty awkward when he just has to chew the fat in an interview or something. It's very clear that he has an amazing baseball mind and lives+breathes the game though. He's all over pretty much any trend in the game and he has a lot of good stories to tell.

I think him overcoming his own robotic nature would be nice (not sure if he's trying to be a Mr. Rogers type and carefully watch what he says or if he struggles to relate to normal hu-mans). Although I'd definitely tune in to see him change his shoes and sweaters from time to time while talking to a trolley.

Gonna have to do it against Hader. I don't like those odds.

OK, so when Heyward is barreling up Josh Hader, something is odd.

EDIT: Great game in Milwaukee. Very much sounds like a playoff atmosphere here in the 8th inning.

Is Heyward becoming a good hitter again?

An added bonus whether the Cubs win or lose tonight is that Hader will most likely be out of commission for tomorrow's game. Cubs taking some good swings on him.

Brewers got a gift there. Knebel threw 8 straight balls to Contreras and Schwarber, but the ump called one to Schwarber a strike. Would've walked in the go ahead run, but whatever.

Bad Schwarber swing on the 3-1 pitch, too. Too anxious and was out in front on a middle-middle fastball

I almost don't understand why anyone would throw a strike to Baez. Too bad they didn't.

Villar, what a topsy turvy player.

Poor glove, terrible mistakes on the basepaths, and this year has hit better with a cannon arm.

Then there is no hit Arcia.

Can the Rays move to Montreal or something?

I dunno what the Blue Jays did to the baseball gods to deserve being pwned by Tampa.
