Got to be one of the worst contracts in baseball right now.

Gotta agree though, it's sad to see his career ending this way.

As good as he was, how does anyone possibly think giving a guy 30M PER YEAR from ages 35-40 is a good idea?


That Zimmerman deal has also gone horribly for Tigers.

And so unnecessary, they gave him the contract extension WITH TWO YEARS REMAINING in his then current contract at the age of 31. So idiotic.

Yeah but I think Artie Moreno is happy with it due to Pujols hitting milestones and being a big name in a big market.

Thank you Chase Anderson(one heckuva a performance vs hot Cubbies), Travis Shaw and last but not least, one of the smartest running on the baseball paths I've seen, Lorenzo Cain.

Cain said they practiced the play in KC, but never tried it. lolz

ESPN gets shat on a lot for some dumb and valid reasons, but having Hank Aaron in the booth for like, five innings last night was super cool. I could have easily gone for another four innings of that.

Also nice to have Albies and Inciarte break out of their slumps. Hopefully Folty is straight and there is no complications with him.

Braves' Mike Soroka with a no-hitter through 6 IP against the Mets, only 64 pitches thrown so far. Braves up 1-0.

This is his first MLB game in a month (with two rehab starts) after shoulder soreness, so he is limited to about 90 pitches. With the small amount of stress pitches so far though, I think they'll let him work through a ninth inning if he starts it off with less than 90, and get him up maybe only to 100-105 max.

I don't understand why we run into so many outs at 3rd base with no outs. Seems like anytime we have a guy on second with any speed they try and steal 3rd when there is no reason for that play at all. It's a useless steal attempt.

Yeah that was a combination of being way too aggressive by Inciarte and a smart play by deGrom to anticipate his continued aggression.

Inciarte has done this multiple times this year...this one was really annoying because his run was HUGE in a 1-0 game. He's already in scoring position and he gets caught like that? I loved the hustle to get the double...but the next play was completely awful.

I don't understand it at all. You get back to back doubles from the first two hitters of the inning and get 0 runs because of it. I am all for being aggressive on the basepath, but this team takes it too far at times and seems to lack baseball IQ too often.

Freddie's home run had a virtual hang time of about seven seconds. Wow, I wonder what the elevation angle was of that ball, maybe close to 40 degrees!
