It's sad that such a great PBP guy has to work for such a gimmicky network. Oh well, at least he's working with one of his best friends in the game (Matty V and A-Rod are said to be quite tight)



Anywho, it sucks that Gurriel got injured in the 9th today. It looks like he'll have a DL stint too but luckily the x-rays were negative. He'll have an MRI tomorrow in Oakland to find out if there's soft tissue damage. Hopefully it won't be a long stay and he can continue to kill everything in sight.

Yea and arod has sold out some too since he's been in that booth. Still like Matty V though.

There go the Cardinals, making errors again.

Maybe they should take BP more seriously when practicing defensive drills, am I right?

On a different note, there is no way that error during Heyward's AB should be given anything else in any sort of way, but I think that baseball (more so softball because of the slap hitter) should start having a different kind of error called a "forced error" or something, where speed put pressure on the player to make their effort become more than ordinary to attempt to make the out. There should also be team errors like when you miscommunicate during a pop-up, etc. Neither of these should affect the batter's average, and they should still be credited with hits.

That being said, I still think Munoz had enough time that it shouldn't even fall under the "forced error" category, despite the speed that Heyward has and put on that play.

That was such a Javy at bat. 1-0 awful swing at a ball in the dirt, 2-1 bad swing at a ball off the plate away. Hammer the 2-2 mistake for a double

Hendricks really turned this start around after a rocky start. 8 K's after punching out Yadi

EDIT: 6 solid innings....probably it, day off tomorrow will give the bullpen some needed rest so no need to stretch Hendricks unnecessarily

The worst part is if a throw had been made and the runner was safe, he's likely out easily at third based on when he rounded second.

Willson Contreras is a conundrum. He may be a lot faster than everybody else thinks he is, but he's not nearly as fast as he thinks he is.

Holy hell, Heyward was like 300 feet out. Mad respect there. Molina is pissed his average is lowered and doesn't get a chance at a ribby.

On an unrelated note, I hate ESPN's video quality (that sharpening mechanic they use), but kind of like that double-bat sound that you hear when a ball is barreled up. I wouldn't always like it, but for this specific game I'll take it. Sounds cool during the Home Run Derby as well.
