Lourdes Gurriel Jr. still going crazy in July. Sucks he had to be a pinch hitter awhile back, because he has a hit in 17 straight starts now!

In July, he's now at .423AVG with 14RBI! That's over 70 at bats!

That's who Joey Gallo reminds me of.

Add in Mark Reynolds, Chris Davis, they all went to the Dave Kingman School for Hitting.

Edit: just looked up Dave Kingman stats, and he played for 4 different teams in 1977. Weird.

Jackie Bradley had one of the best catches by a Red Sox outfielder I can remember seeing. Even for him this one was nuts.

For those who may have missed it.

One of my favorite CF's to watch...criminally underrated as a player, IMO.

With the amount of pitches Newcomb threw today, if I'm Snit his next outing is not going over 90. He didn't have a lot of stress pitches but that's a ton of pitches on a young arm.

I hope Hamels pitches well, but I don't see him being the answer for that staff. Too much data showing that Quintana and Hendricks just aren't good this year and I don't see them going deep into the playoffs with the current staff. I don't know how to make it work but I think they've got to do something else.

I remember really wanting Quintana back on the Yankees. I've changed my mind.

Q had been pitching well prior to yesterday. Hendricks though has been getting hammered all year though. Hamels is just simply an huge upgrade over Chatwood.

I know i know but still holding out hope Darvish can go in the postseason. 1. Lester/2. Darvish/3. Q//Hendricks/Hamels looks alot better.

It's sad that such a great PBP guy has to work for such a gimmicky network. Oh well, at least he's working with one of his best friends in the game (Matty V and A-Rod are said to be quite tight)

Anywho, it sucks that Gurriel got injured in the 9th today. It looks like he'll have a DL stint too but luckily the x-rays were negative. He'll have an MRI tomorrow in Oakland to find out if there's soft tissue damage. Hopefully it won't be a long stay and he can continue to kill everything in sight.
