I'm just glad we play in the NL East and this Phillies team was our only competition. It'll be nice to finally be back in the postseason even if it means the Dodgers are going to beat us by a cumulative 100-10 score.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

Nope...after 2011 I am not talking about post-season until the champagne is being popped. Magic number is still 4..."People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring." - Rogers HornsbyComment

Yanks down five with 3 outs to go. We got the red Sox right where we want them.

The Phillies are bad. Really bad. It's a wonder how they're in contention for a division.Comment

Because the East is the worst division in baseball like I've said most of the year. The Phillies would be sob 500 in any other division in baseball and the Braves would be around .500 probably.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

Hello friends.
We have won the division 3 years in a row for the first time in team history, and also for the first time in team history we clinched the division at Yankee Stadium.
We have 9 chances to get 2 wins and set the franchise record for wins in a season.

Re: 9/10 - 9/23 Game Discussion Thread
It's not as much they're bad as it is how schizophrenic they've been. During certain stretches they've looked like world beaters and other times I think they would struggle in a series against most any AA team. It's incredible how streaky they've been both as a team and in certain individual performances. They've exceeded expectations overall this year, but no one is going to take any consoling in how they are finishing up the year. This team will look much different next year. Hopefully, Kapler will take a lot of lessons learned from this season and implement them in '19. Regardless this still all goes through Boston, Houston, LA and Chicago when it comes down to it.Comment

Re: 9/10 - 9/23 Game Discussion Thread
I feel like with both the Phillies and Braves they jumped up a year too early and coincided with the rest of the division taking a huge step back. Either one or both of those two teams will fall back a bit next year. I don't know which one it'll be but if I have to make a guess it might be Philly since they'll be banking on making a huge splash with offseason signings and that will put a ton of pressure on Kapler whereas the Braves have a solid foundation of youth that's having a taste of success this year. That may very well buoy them and give them confidence when things get a little rough next season.
I feel like the Nats are going to be in transition especially if Harper doesn't re-sign and the Mets COULD be good if the starting rotation is healthy but we said that at the beginning of this year too. I feel like the Braves will have a realistic shot at winning the division again next season.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club
