The Phillies are bad. Really bad. It's a wonder how they're in contention for a division.

Braves aren't much better. Better address that bullpen in the offseason.

Because the East is the worst division in baseball like I've said most of the year.

The Tigers would have a better record than the Phillies if they were in the East and would give the Braves a run for their money. It is a 1a and 1b situation.

Braves and Phillies are both pretty bad. Both will get wrecked against the Dodgers.

I've noticed Phillies fans take a lot of offense when you say they are bad. They are bad. Braves are too. Both of them are only above .500 because the rest of the division is hot garbage. Take the Mets and Marlind out and the Braves have a .500 record. The Braves against teams that would be in the playoffs right now are 14-21 and that's only that "decent" because we faced the Cardinals earlier in the year at the perfect time.



Any Braves fans that think this team is actually good are in for a rude awakening.

Big 3 game series this weekend with the Giants. We maintain a 1 1/2 game lead over the Rockies who are in Arizona this weekend. Go Diamondbacks!

Also if Pittsburgh would like to pull off a sweep of the Brewers that would be ok as well.

I dunno man, young teams can do crazy things. I wouldn't exactly completely write em off against the Dodgers. We've seen situations where the confluence of youth and/or chemistry can propel a team to big things. The '93 Phillies and '03 Marlins are good examples of that.

I do think the Braves would have a better shot against LA than Philly. I actually think Philly has been falling down to earth but i'm not one of those that would still crap on them if they got Machado and Harper next year but as I said earlier the expectations will be HUUGE. We've seen how teams win the offseason and fall flat on their faces. So I would be cautiously optimistic on that point.

I don't feel confident enough to make a friendly wager on that but I think it'll be more competitive than you think. Here's hoping the Braves can make noise. I've been supportive of that franchise and the fanbase on OS. I also want to see Anthopoulos succeed in a major way there as well.

Just to expand upon this...the Indians who have clinched the AL Central, are a dismal 21-30 against teams that have a >.500 record. So out of 150 games they've played thus far, only 51 of those games have come against teams with a record of .500 or above. 51 is the lowest number of games of any major league team played against a team with a >.500 record.

Zero chance the Tigers would have a better record. The Phillies have 16 more wins than they do.

I disagree...I think Atlanta definitely has a chance. The defense is good, offense can hang with anybody (Acuna is playing at an elite level, Freddie is getting hot, Inciarte is playing way better). I like Atlanta's bench versus anybody as well.

The goal for any team is to get to Atlanta's bullpen so the starters need to provide depth. With Vizcaino back and getting into shape, it definitely will help.
