Side plot for tomorrow - Baez and Yelich get one more chance - head to head - to influence the NL MVP vote.

Rizzo came up big today. 4-4 with a game-changing double in the middle innings.

Ha! In your face, everyone. I sure called it.

I think this has already been decided: Christian Yelich will be the NL MVP. I don't think there's anything Javy can do.

I think you're right, Yelich is in Bonds territory with how much he's scaring opposing pitchers right now.

Braves do not want to play the Rockies.

I would like LA to win this please.

Yelich is close to a Triple Crown and carried the Brewers since the all star break.

                    Here's a fun stat.

Coming into September, David Dahl had 7 home runs. He finished the season with 16, including wrapping up the year with a home run in 6 straight games.

Yeah Baez is not in the conversation anymore really and he had a decent september Yelich was just otherwordly but I would still vote for DeGrom because he's been the best player in the NL. His year is way better than the Kershaw or Verlander years when they won MVP but he doesn't have narrative of he willed his teams into the postseason writer nonsense.

after Yesterday I'm more than thrilled to have this play in game. Q has been not only good against the Brewers but his stuff has been just much better overall lately and maybe this will be the start the cubs finally hit the Brewers starting pitching.

Facing Chacin worries me. If I remember right, they haven't really touched him in his previous starts

I'd be surprised if they have v good numbers vs any of the Brewers starters every game felt like they had to scratch and claw to get 2-3 runs and then battle of the bullpens.

Was pretty neat that Mauer got to catch one last pitch in the 9th inning yesterday.

That pretty much solidifies that he's made the decision to retire.

Adam Wainwright wants to pitch in 2019. He and Cardinals reportedly going to discuss options.

Give him a year deal for whatever money and put him in the bullpen. He can spot start from time to time if needed.

Maybe doing so will keep him off the DL.
