I won't say that I hate the ESPN broadcast, but I could do without it. The exuberance comes across as very fake, and it ends up being very annoying with how constant it is. Get excited when it's warranted, and that is not every second of a 3+ hour game.

my biggest issue with the ESPN crew isn't any one person in particular, more that they just have no chemistry together whatsoever. ARod sometimes tells interesting stories, but they never really link with the other people or feel very connected to the rest of the crew. Then you get Buster olney randomly piping in with some nonsense. They are all telling you things, but not really talking to each other. Mendoza really doesn't add much other than just another voice and overflowing enthusiasm about literally anything.

Compare that to the best, the Mets crew, and it's pretty much just one guy giving the play by play while also just chatting with his two friends. The Rays is good as well, as the commentators work together. ESPN feel like they are trying far too hard

A-Rod is much better in studio. He can get kind of annoying in game

Mendoza seemed to be trying to "fit in" too much during her first few years (which is fairly understandable), but has gotten a lot better recently.

I always liked Matty-V but it almost seems like ESPN told him to tone down his excitement, which is why I enjoyed him.

Definitely seems like the crew doesn't really work well together. Individually they seem to be very good broadcasters, but the whole team is kinda meh

I really disliked Morgan but I kinda agree which says how bad this crew is.

the game was an easier watch back then. Mendoza is Meh, I really dislike Matty V, and Arod just says dumb things.

I actively put SNB on mute now.

Morgan was bad but I always liked Jon Miller, I guess ESPN saw them as a tandem but I wished they would get rid of Morgan and kept Miller.

Only they also insist on edge-enhancing their capture and duplicating every on-field sound for some odd reason, so it would still be poo poo.

By the way, did anyone else hear Hank Aaron's breakdown of his own swing?

Jon Miller just has such a good voice for the game. I actively look forward to listening to his Giants broadcasts when I get the chance.

Christian Yelich is unbelievable. 2 HR 6 RBI. Both 3 run HR the last one to break the tie.

EDIT: Forgot there's a new thread. That I started.
