This isn't a shot at you, but its hypocritical to me that fans booed him. I'm pretty certain most people out there made some awful mistakes in their life. But it's just not front and center for the whole world to see.

No I don't want to see him succeed. He's a piece of **** person and I don't believe he's reformed, I think he's just learning what people want to hear.

And he hasn't paid for what he did. He got suspended from work, that's about as lenient of a punishment you can get for terrorizing your significant other.

The reason I bring this up. Aroldis Chapman was involved in something similar a few years ago and has not repeated those mistakes.

Choking your girlfriend and firing shots in your garage isn't pretty either. But I hope he's learned and moved on and will be successful.

How do we know those mistakes haven’t been repeated?

We don't for sure. But there hasn't been any more reports of abuse. That's all we can go by. Or we can just be judgmental and label the guy a pos forever. Seems to be what society does these days anyway.

So you’re good with abuse as long as it hasn’t happened again?

Absolutely not. But people are crazy. And we don't know everything that happens. Women aren't always innocent. I could give countless examples.

I'm not trying to derail this thread. Had a good friend. And his ex came at him with a golf club. He shut the door. And it left her with a bruises. She was psycho. He went to jail.

I just dont always believe the damsel in distress story.

Sometimes the dude is a heaping pos. But other times there is a completely different side to the story.

Russell’s story is out there for all to read and is in no way comparable to your friends story so I’m sorry if I don’t get the relevance.

Sorry, you were only responding to posts about Russell so it was hard to tell that you were talking about someone you hadn’t referenced at all.

No you're good man. It doesnt matter anyway. You know those boos will turn into cheers at Wrigley if Russell hits a walk off or something and all will be forgotten. Just being real.

Braves lose another game to a team not named the Marlins. Another game with zero offense. This team sucks and they sucked last year, too. The difference is they aren't getting every single break like they did last year.

I hope not. It wasn't a "good kid making a bad decision" scenario. It's a guy who's actually an out-and-out sociopath basically ruining his significant other's life for a several year period. He shouldn't get a free pass as if it were a simple mistake he made. He should get the same scrutiny that any garden variety wife beater would get. I guess it's a good thing he can't hit so we'll be spared from all of those cheers, lol.

Pujols was cool with it, said the fan could keep the piece of history. As for it being worth nothing, I don't think that's the case. The Authentication Program says they authenticate balls that stay in play or do it in advance before in case it goes into the stands. I'm guessing once they lose line of sight you can't do anything.

Either way, the Jose Bautista bat flip ball sold for 26k, and Bonds 762 is being resold after going for 350k in 2008, neither of those were authenticated. That guy is getting paid.

Tim Anderson, who is quickly becoming one of my favorite non-Red Sox, has pledged $500 for every stolen base he gets to his anti-violence charity League of Leaders.

He currently leads the Majors with 12.
