Cishek is good for at least one pulled slider outside of the LH batters box per game it seems

I think it's time (been time since the 17 WS) to take Kenley Jansen out of the "Elite" discussion. Dude is no longer reliable as he once was. I definitely hope we make some moves to bolster our pen, cause we aren't winning jack if it stays like this.

I know the ball took a weird hop on Pollock, but that is beside the point.

OK, Kyle. You can stay on the team. The key is picking your spot for the solo homer.

The thing is, Neris is so damn schizophrenic in the closer role. I thought last year he could be a closer. He's not. This is not about the coaching staff. This is about a decimated bullpen staff, that quite frankly wasn't good before they got hurt, and relievers who are in service not being able to locate their pitches properly. You can fire everyone and the coat check clerk, but until the relievers take care of their job and they get another serviceable starter (Velasquez is fun, but he must be traded), they're gonna have to rely on victories like this, which is no way to win even a playoff series, let alone a championship.

Braves looking like they are about to lose their first series after going 10 straight without doing so.

As Darvish blows away Puig on a 98 mph fastball to end the 6th inning, it's nice to hear the YUUUUU's rain down on him at Wrigley Field instead of the boos. Moar, please.

For as unimpressive as Almora has been at the plate this year (outside of a small power boost), he still plays a darn good center field.

Also as I type this it looks like the elite arms of Willson Contreras and Martin Maldonado have rubbed off on Victor Caratini as he picks off Jose Iglesias to get Kyle Ryan out of a tough spot in the 7th.

The Twins are earning their first 3-game losing streak of the season in style!

The Twins really have turned Target Field into the Homer Dome (& every other stadium they've played in this season). Rocco might wind up being Joe Maddon's biggest contribution to baseball. Rocco managed like he's been doing it 15 years, not 3 months. I thought he might wind up being their downfall but he's been a solid real deal. I still have some hope the division will tighten up.
I don't think so, and in fact I think that it'll be really close by the time August rolls around. But Cleveland's schedule in August is brutal compared to the Twins.

I'm actually going to probably two games in that August series, already have tickets for the Sunday game. (It's the 9th-11th of August)

The utility infielder is now pitching

He's touching 60! Got out of it only allowing 3 runs in his inning of work.

Kind of a shame he's seen as somewhat of a disappointment as he's had a pretty solid career all told. All the hype surrounding some of these guys really puts a cloud on a reasonably successful big league career. I'd put Bryce Harper in the same boat. He's been really good but it's practically impossible to live up to the "Sports Illustrated cover at 16" type of hype
