    Yeah, I know... NY was on the verge of getting a new stadium before 9/11... I'd like to see a new stadium though... KeySpan Field, where the Cyclones play, is really nice.

      I sure would not want him as my closer. Ben Howard has proven nothing other then he throws hard. Who do you root for? The Yanks?
      Living in So. Cal I root for the Padres and the Angels.

      Beltrans OPB, and his OPS aren't that impressive.. Like I said good player, not good enough to carry an offense up to this point in his career.

      What does age have to do with if a guy can close or not. There's no reason to believe Mota or Alfonseca can't close out games. And how many games have you seen Ben Howard pitch?

      You said David Wright has more potential than Mike Lowell. Based on 260 AB's and Lowell's recent performance that's impossible to say. Go look up guys like Kevin Maas for people who look like big time hitters after 250 ab's and the fall off the map. Wright might be the next George Brett, but to declare him better than Mike Lowell after 250 ab's is stupid.

      Like I said, I can't see how you could possibly say with certainty the Mets are more of a playoff contender than the Marlins. Or anyone else out there at this point. The Mets have as many questions as anyone..

                  It's not like David Wright flew under the radar in the minors and just got lucky in his first year though, he's been a big prospect for a while. Along with those 250 bats, you can look at his minor league numbers too to judge just how good he will be. Sure lots of great prospects do well in the minors, then just totally flop in the majors, but judging by the numbers he put up in 2004, and the numbers he put up in the minors, its safe to say, barring injury, he's going to be pretty good.

                      Again see Kevin Maas. The league is littered with players who put up big numbers in the minors, big numbers after a half season call up or so, just to fall off as pitchers adjust. Not saying this is going to happen, but to say he's a lock to be better than Mike Lowell, a player who's been producing for some time now, makes no sense what so ever.

                          In all do respect please don't call anything I say stupid. You should understand this is just a conversation. I do not think Wright is better at this moment. If you look at everything he has done to this point with the Mets both minor leauge and Major leauge he has more up side then Lowell. Mota has never been a closer so you can't say how he will be. Great setup guy I agree.Please don't use Alfonseca as a closer. He has bounced around a bit.
                          When is the last time he saved 20 games? In regards to Howard I have seen him pitch several times as I have the MLB Pass. I also get Baseball America
                          which covers the Minors and Majors. He has an above average fastball and a fair cutter. He has had controll problems in the past. He is an unknown major leauge talent. Who will win more then 15 games on the Marlins? I bet Pedro will win at leat 15 to 18 games. Lets see if AJ and Josh can get through a whole season. To be fair I think the Braves have the best pitching in the NL East. Also one other thing Shea is considered the worst hitters park in the NL
                          just imagine how many more Homeruns Wright would hit in Florida.

                              Yea imagine:

                              Dimensions

                              Dolphins Stadium

                              Power Alley= 385
                              CF= 434
                              RF= 345

                              Shea
                              LF= 338
                              Power Alley= 378
                              CF = 410
                              RF= 338

                              It seems to me the the marlins have a bigger park. Also they have the teal monster in LF that is 29 ft high i think.
