    Re: 7/23 - 8/2 Game Discussion Thread

Dakota Hudson will try to pitch us to a sweep of the Pirates this afternoon.

I agree SportsForever, the Padres are fun to watch as are the White Sox. I could see both teams making the playoffs in this format and then "rocking the boat" when they are there.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Do the Angels ever forgo the DH in these games when he pitches? Curious.

In my head, I keep thinking Blake Snell's name is "Ian Snell," and Jeff McNeil's name is "Scoot McNeil."

Why do I think these things???

EDIT: Okay, I'm re-realizing that Ian Snell was actually a pitcher. At least that one makes sense; I was thinking for a second that I just made up that name. I can't explain "Scoot," though. That just popped up out of nowhere.

On the other hand, Scoot actually was quite the colorful character with himself yesterday in his extra innings at-bat.

I do that every time about Blake Snell, and I have even talked to the guy over face time! (Probably my best story for "meeting" a professional athlete, lol)

Never realized this before. After 2 games, there's a 13 way tie for 2nd in the AL. 13 teams are 1-1.

Of course the Astros had to be the only team who is 2-0 in the AL.

well , they are the defending A.L. champions

and the the A in A.L. stands for asterisk

poor Seattle it's only "April" and they are already mathematically eliminated

I can't yet tell if I like the Cubs' Marquee Sports Network scorebug or not.

It has decent flair, but I kind of take forever perusing it to look for what I'm trying to find, hah.

Doing the math, each game counts as 2.7 regular games.

So Mariners currently have a 5.4 game losing streak.

that's not fair, they should be forced to play with 10 players at a time just like everybody else *half-serious/half-jokingly*

Never been a fan of powder blue, and the Rangers uniforms are no exception.

Furthermore, I'm absolutely never a fan of pants that aren't white (home) or gray (road). Pinstripes are okay, but that's the extent of color which I prefer seeing.
