A little? Look where the balls are going, too!

Betts takes one the other way with a pitch outside of the strike zone. The boy can turn on pitches and backspin them, but he's still a small dude and LA's marine layer thickens the air in the evening. Then he top-spins his second home run that clears by more than plenty.

These guys are flipping the ball out midway up the bleachers like it's absolutely nothing. It's pathetic how different the ball is.

What's crazy is those who are disillusioned into thinking how much different some item with the same size and weight can be made into two completely distinguishable entities. Take softball, for example. Fastpitch softballs and slowpitch softballs are way different. I probably can't hit a fastpitch softball 280 feet, but a slowpitch softball I can hit 320+ feet. It's a joke.

I wonder what effect, if any, lack of crowd noise has on the ball carrying?

I don't know if that's a stupid question or not.

I know the ball is doctored but just something that crossed my mind.

Good question. As an extreme example, if there was a wall of 1,000,000 people shouting at a feather that was falling mid-air 200 feet away from them, do you think it would have any effect? I'm asking curiously, not condescendingly.

I know that speakers can push amperes of sound outward with a low enough frequency and high enough decibel value, but I personally wouldn't say that crowds can do that enough, much less create any sort of lift on the ball by being underneath it.

I wonder if any player has caught a ball he might have normally dropped because of fans heckling him and trying to call off the fielder during a pop fly.

I doubt it only because of localization.

I have however seen an NFL game where the players stopped action by hearing a whistle from the stands, and the referees had to clarify that and reset the down.

I just heard that this year marks the 100th anniversary of the introduction of the RBI stat.

                Also, a crazy fact.

All time SS who've gotten and XBH and RBI in 7 consecutive games:
                -Bo Bichette

That's the list. Not Jeter, not Ripken, nobody else did that.

Vlad is still young so it'll take time, but Bo is for sure the Jays best player. Glad I got his jersey in offseason.

                  Jays bats going off.

Couldn't get job done vs Marlins, although they did tie up game after being down 8-0.

They're now up 12-4 vs Tampa!

The offense is finally here! Let's hope these young guys can continue this for at least another month.

Is there some guy on the highway in Buffalo relaying signals to the Jays batters? Six more homers tonight for a total of 13 over the past two games. I'm suspicious.

Shhhhh! You're gonna get us caught. Don't let the MLB find out about old Buffalo William. He sits out on the highway with his torch light. 1 light means it's a strike, 2 means it's a ball. 3 means it's right down the middle.

Jays win 12-4 after trailing 3-0 in the 2nd!

Gerrit Cole has won 20 straight regular decisions. Pretty impressive.

Kershaw has looked great so far this season. A bump in his velo has brought back some bite to his cutter and a bit more of a difference between that and his FB

A's now have 3 grand slams in the 9th or later. The rest of the MLB has zero.

And I didn't see it mentioned but Ramon's suspension reduced to 4 games.

Had no idea that Hunter Pence was still in MLB. And he plays for the Giants again? And he's batting .119? What a time to be alive.

He started the season like 0-for-24 or something. He actually hit the snot out of a bunch of balls that just wouldn't land.

At least he has a couple of big flies. Pablo is batting like .150 and slugging the same as well.

Then Wilmer Flores has the most boneheaded defensive play I've seen in a while in the ninth inning. Get a ****ing out!!!
