Joe West ejects the Nats GM for not wearing a mask, and even called security to kick him out.

If that is the case, why were they even looking up there? The guy was alone and sitting outside.

It's like that company that said you should be wearing masks while at home by yourself when on video meetings.

Makes no sense.

To make it worse, the ump removed his mask below his nose while in the Braves dugout to make the phone call.


Edit- West was home plate ump, but I think the 2nd base ump made the original toss.

Breaking news, umps aren't paying attention to the game, they're looking elsewhere. As if we never knew this before. It all makes sense.

I was gonna say the exact same thing.

To make it worse, the ump removed his mask below his noise while in the Braves dugout to make the phone call.

Not sure if it was West or the home plate ump who made the phone call to security.

If I were the Braves/Nats, I'd complain for that reason alone. MLB won't care if he sucks at his job, but surely a team could have a case by him breaking this rule.

On a diff facepalm note:

The Astros are currently the 8 seed in the AL. They could finish 10th in the AL and make playoffs because of the top 2 per division makes playoff rule.

What is the playoff format for the season anyways? I know its 8 per league, but how is bracket determined?

Reading more about it, there was more to the story with the Rizzo ejection. Apparently the entire series he had been up there heckling/giving it to the umpires. The umps told the league office to make it stop and if the league wouldn't address it, the umps would take it into their own hands.

Makes some sense. You see the Nats batter turn around at one moment before the umpires started to make a fuss out of things to begin with, so I guess he heard him as well.

Yep, hate it. Was going to record and start the game later, but can't since it's not on TV locally like it should be. Also can't skip forward easily on my tv app.

I only got to see clips of it, but Anderson did not look good. I saw a another wild pitch (I think he has 1 in all 3 starts now) and a bunch of walks.

Didn't see the HBP. Though with Urena on the mound I'm not surprised.

Meh...Anderson started off really nice; he through a tapper in front of the mound into right field for an error with 2-outs and it unravelled from there. He through a ton of extra pitches after that and 6 of the next 10 reached base. He clearly was not the same pitcher after the error.

The Bravss hitting has been terrible. It's not 3 runners, I think maybe more, left on 3rd or thrown out at home.
