I've always liked Gardy; reading the reports it sounds like the stress of everything has really been impacting his health. He is a cancer survivor and has diabetes; he said the stress he was under each day with trying to run a team and manage COVID while also taking care of his family was causing him to have tremors. Glad to see him step away and take care of himself/family.

        Cardinals with a needed win.

Flaherty was superb with 11 strikeouts in 6 innings

Molina with a 2 run bomb

Jays won their first game all week!
Crazy how even in a 6 game slide, their magic number to clinch playoffs is at 5, and they got 7 games left.

5-2 gets them in no matter what, 4-3 or 3-4 gives them a good shot.

But then again, they're facing the Yankees.....

          Heres hoping everyone else loses.

Cardinals have 3 against the Royals and 5 against the Brewers this week. Then 2 against the Tigers on Monday, if necessary which I believe it will be.

Going to be a wild and entertaining ride to the finish line.

So the magic numbers have been updated after last night. Jays number is actually 4!

4-3 gets them in. 3-4 all but likely gets them in (it would require Mariners being perfect AND Astros being above .500 to eliminate the Jays), 2-5 and 1-6 will need some luck with other teams losing.

Hamels has been worthless...we’re going to pay that guy $17M pro-rated for 3 innings, aren’t we.

2 weeks after Jays put up 12 vs Yankees, and a week after when the Yankees smacked Jays 20-6, Jays are now up 9-1 in the 5th.

Looking for their first weekday win in 2 weeks.

As much as I could care less about the Mets. I'm glad deGrom came back better then ever. He's one of the best pitchers I've ever seen.

                            Wilmer Font sucks.

At least Jays won. Magic number down to 3 with 6 games left. Playoff clinch could be coming in 24 or 48 hours.

                              Bad news:
Mariners won (bad for Jays I mean)

                              Good news:
                              Astros lost

It is very unlikely, Mariners would have to go at least 4-2 to end the season, and Astros win no more than 2 games, and Jays win just 1 more than Astros, but theres scenarios out there in which the Astros miss the playoffs! It starts with a Mariners sweep and a miraculous Texas Rangers series split or win.

Cardinals lost to the Royals last night. Still holding the 2nd spot in the Central which is best right now for a 6th seed in the National League.

Really need to take these final two against the Royals
