I know why. But **** the PC. I'm not saying throw him 120 +. But only 4 innings in? And you replace him with Dan Altavilla. And then proceeds to give up a homer.

It's a copycat league. But you'd think one manager would grow some balls and be different.

I dont think its wise to Dusty Baker a 21 year old. He was already at 79 pitches when he was pulled. No need to push him early this season.

Aa unpopular as it is, games do go by way quicker with 7 innings vs 9.

Jays game started 90 minutes ago, they're already in bottom of the 5th.

MLB wants shorter games and starters lasting for more of a game. 7 inning games do accomplish this, not that I think it will ever become the norm.

And speaking of changes, one comment I heard brought up regarding the bigger bases, it could lead to more SB attempts. Do people think it'll encourage more runners to steal, or will it ONLY lead to more percentage of bases being stolen?

Vladdy with his 4th home run already in April. Hitting over .400 and over .500 OBP!

            Balls hit over 110mph:
            Judge & Stanton combined: 13
            Vlad: 11

No other team has a pair of teammates at or above Vlads mark.

He's top 5 in the AL in average, home runs, ops, obp, slg, rbi.

Still 2 weeks to go, but I'd say its between him and Mercedes for AL player of the month. This is the type of guy everyone was hoping they saw.

Matz "no hitter" broken up in the 6th inning.

I use the quotes, because it turns out that in these 7 inning games, even if you finish the game with a no hitter or perfect game, it won't be considered one.

Like I said, the Braves will make the Cubs offense look good.

Agree to disagree. I think managers baby these guys arms way too much these days. Some guys are gonna get hurt regardless. It is what it is. There's no direct science that says 80 pitches is the necessary cutoff for a young pitcher.

But you brought up a classic example of Dusty Baker and every manager is scared to do that. So managers are bullish on relievers and I don't like it.

Yankees about to be 2-7 in their last 9.

Apparently things have gotten ugly in NY.

I said it on opening day, there were fans chanting horrible things at the Jays. Fans were throwing baseballs on the field at Rays players yesterday, now they're booing their own players.

You hate to see things like that for a long suffering fanbase, guess they've had enough.

                        Here's a weird one.

Carlos Santana gets his 1000th career walk in the bottom half of the final inning, with his team down by 4.

Celebrating the milestone by taking 1B, literally.

I expect the Yankees to right the ship sooner then later. Wouldn't be the first time they slogged their way through April.

Still I expected more urgency against Tampa. Rays pretty much own NYY as of late. And it's been a bit embarrassing.

Long season though. Literally haven't done anything right lately.

They'll get their mojo back when Atlanta rolls into town. Braves are making everyone look good early on.
