Red Sox had their first 7 inning doubleheader of the season yesterday. What a fantastic idea by MLB. Absolutely loved everything about it. The league should go one step further by scheduling one double header per team each week to help shorten the season.

The extra inning rule and this are the best changes MLB has done in a long time.

Today's Jackie Robinson day!

MLB should really schedule Jays vs Dodgers on Jackie Robinson day one year (to commemorate his time on the Montreal Royals). Dodgers wear Brooklyn throwbacks, Jays wear Montreal Royals throwbacks (if that's allowed since it's a diff organization)

Closest we've gotten I believe is Jays vs KC Royals starting today (Montreal Royals weren't affiliated with KC, but do share a team name, and he did play for KC Monarchs in the Negro PRO League)

They only play 6 innings in Little League. If you're going to constantly complain, at least be accurate

I don't think that semantics are the point...

If we are going to be held to technicalities though we can just edit the original poster's statement to:
"Another pony league double header today"


Edit: actually we should just refer to all of these rules as beer league softball. It fits both the 7 inning games and the silly runner on 2nd in extras.
