For this year it could be the stop and go last year.

Guys now getting warm in March, then stopping for about 4 months. Then resuming and having to warm up again and play that season.

And now suddenly doing a workload they haven't experienced in at least 2 seasons.

But in general, we are seeing lots more injuries as a whole. I know from the Jays standpoints, they've used a franchise record number of players basically every season the last decade.

Maybe part of it is the fact that more guys nowadays throw harder?

I'm not sure if this was always a thing, but I first started noticing it last year...

Anyone notice how some broadcast cameras aren't quite synced up all the same, like the regular behind-the-pitcher camera is sometimes a few milliseconds delayed from some of the other cameras?

I recognized this last year when the Dodgers played the Astros and Joe Kelly beaned a few guys then started picking them off. He appeared to have the quickest pickoff move I'd ever seen, it was almost intimidating to watch on TV! Then it really became apparent when a pitcher was in the same shot receiving a ball on two separate occasions in two shots.

It's like in every broadcast now, though. Was this always a thing and I never noticed until last year?

I am no doctor, but anecdotally I have to think that it has to do with guys throwing harder. I've heard a lot of guys who have been around the game for a long time say how pitchers are now being taught to give max effort on every pitch, which also might explain why fastball command has become a lost art.

ugh...acuna and freddie had a double steal and Ozuna swings and fouls it off, 2 pitches later he watches 93 down the center of the plate for strike 3. At least they got one out of it,

Feels weird watching Jays game having their pitcher hit.

First time since September 2019 that's happened.

I love NL baseball. 0-0 in the 7th and the Orioles get men on 2nd and 3rd with the 8th hitter coming up. Mets intentionally walk him to force Baltimore to pinch hit for their pitcher

It's too bad that this isn't a 7 inning game. That would have been 6 less outs for the the Braves bullpen to blow a lead.

Edit - Not going to lie. It's impressive to see just how many new ways this Braves bullpen can suck. Usually it's not being able to do the one thing that every major league pitcher should have the basic ability to do, throw strikes (which there is still plenty of that). Tonight it's not doing the basic fundamentals like throw to the right base or cover first on a grounder to the right side in the same inning.

Minter screwed up not throwing it to 2nd to get the easy out to start the inning. Webb didn't run because Freddie should have gone home with the ball. The entire bullpen is garbage and the worst in baseball for a reason.

This Braves team loves making every team look good. Never seen a team hate winning as much as this one.

Patrick Mazeika doesn’t have a major league hit, but he’s had two walk off RBIs in the past week

And the Braves complete the meltdown. Someone explain to me how the bullpen was the biggest issue when AA got here, he made moves slowly over time to fix it, it finally was decent last year, so they let it fall apart and went with a a bunch of garbage to fill it out this year.

If the NL East wasn't a dumpster fire itself this would be a 70 win team at best.

Today's game is centered around a bullpen now, I don't understand why it's not priority #1 for GMs now.

Despite that though, I think I saw a stat yesterday saying that other than the *Astros and Red Sox, all other WS winners since 2016 have been top 2 in starter ERA.
