Jays beat Yankees 6-1, teams totalled for 28 strikeouts, Boone ejected early on for arguing strikezone (ironic given yesterday's ump scorecard was heavily in Yankees favor despite their loss).

If you don't like that, you don't like AL East baseball.

Feels like they're done. Gave everything they had to get out of the hole before the deadline and everyone is exhausted now

It really sucks because this has been a fun team

Sheesh…Acuna hits his 40th, but Charlie Morton leaves with what appears to be an injury. The way our pitching is falling apart, this has the feeling of a first round exit in a few weeks.

Congrats to Acuna 40/40 shame that it had to be against us.

                    Mariners and Astros lose!

At this point I don't care who wins more games between Rangers and Mariners to end the season, I just want whoever wins those games to win most if not all of them and really knock the other out.

3rd in ALE is now 3rd in the AL!

Jays down 5-0 to the Rays

                      It's now 6-5 Jays.

Fairbanks literally throwing the game away for the Rays. About as bad an outing as it gets without allowing a hit.

Gets in the game, throws a wild pitch, runner scores. He then goes on to walk the first batter up.

Next guy gets hit and bases are loaded.

Next guy gets walked and the runner from 3B scores.

                      3 batters, 0 outs, 0 hits, 2 runs, 3 walks, 13 of 18 pitches were balls.

Springer with an inside the park 3 run home run!

Even crazier part, he thought he had a HR, so he lightly jogged to 1B before realizing the ball didn't make it over the wall so he had to sprint.

Jays hold on to the lead!

Magic number down to 4, but it's a weird magic number since for the time being its more dependent on their wins since Astros/Mariners/Rangers play each other, so teams swapping wins doesn't help Jays case much.

91 is the most wins needed to clinch a WC spot (in a very specific scenario where those 3 ALW teams trade enough wins with each other where all 3 finish with 90+ wins).

The Yankees and Red Sox are both eliminated from the playoffs.

Only the 2nd time in the WC era thats happened. And we haven't had a season where neither team even finished in the top 3 of the division since 1992!

Feels like just yesterday where the AL East standings were
                                1. Yankees
                                2. Red Sox
                                3. Jays
                                4. O's
                                5. Rays

When that happened for 6 straight years (and 7 of 8 total)

Nothing will top the 2021 AL East (where 4th place had 91 wins) but there's a chance based on how the Red Sox/Yankees finish that this could be the best 5th place finish in the WC era in this division.
