Ok, one issue. Gettin better in your later years does not mean you are on steroids. I don't think Unit is on steroids, and Schilling surely isn't on them, yet they have been better in their later years, than in their early years. Moises Alou as well, unless they feel he is on steroids.

Again, saying that a skinny second baseman can't hit the ball that far, has he watched Alfonso Soriano? I mean you can't compare baseball players now to the players of the 50s and 60s, and you can't do that in any sport. In the NBA during that time, hardly anybody dunked the ball. Now in the NBA, almost everybody can dunk, the average height is a lot taller, and the players are much faster as well. The same also holds true for the NFL.Comment

Congress seems to be very serious about this as one congressman hinted at sweeping legal changes in order to install an IOC like drug organization.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Wow, I didn't know that the team and commissioner had the ability to offer a fine to a player caught using steroids instead of the suspension. I know the other details (which I think are very weak), but I never knew that.Comment

Well they've gone on break.
I have to say that Mr. Bunning was quite the credible witness for the most part. It seems that congress is going to really push for a universal drug testing policy as i've been hearing for the past few days.
Also interesting to note that the fine may be in there for the 1st offense so that whoever tests positive won't have their name publicized. It really does seem like MLB is trying to sweep this problem under the rug.

Re: What is your take on the Congress and MLB?
here's how to make that fine actually work.
Make it comparable to football. 25% of their season and pay is gone. SO....
You fail a drug test, you get a 10 day suspension OR a fine of 25% of your pay for that season....
Now, your name won't come out with the fine, but.......Do you take 10 days off and public knowledge, but only lose 6% of your total pay, or do you keep it private and lose 25%....hmmmmmmmm
granted I would love a poilicy taht sits you for a year with no pay for a first offense, and the second....DONE.....and all statistics wiped. You do what you want in your association, don't let others ruin the fun. Just because other people say it's cheap doesn't mean you have to let it affect your association, just have fun - Evan_OSComment

Re: What is your take on the Congress and MLB?
I don't know too much about this but would anyone recommend creatine to a 15 yr old?
I ask cuz the Anaheim Angels supplied creatine to a guy who eventually took steroids and died. His trainer at USC also assisted him in taking steroids.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club
