But ahteletes are role models or are suppose to be role models to young kids and teenagers..so they can be blamed as well. I don't know why but kids can't see like the fantasy world the atheletes live in and what they do. So kids hear atheletes are talking steriods, so they believe it's ok for them to do it. Parents don't see what there kids bring home on a daily basis or what they do outside of there homes. What do you want Parents to do pat down there childern every time they walk into there house?
    Wow, just wow!

Maybe you cant place it all on the parents in that situation but I still say that if the parents raised their kid in a certain way, that kid doesnt even think about taking steroids, but I suppose if its your life long dream to play in the majors and they say without steroids you wont make it then I can see the temptation but i still dont understand the notion that it is the players fault, they arent suggesting to these kids to take it.

The parents should be their role models, not some athlete they see on television, and if the parents raised them correctly that would be the case. Ask the media why are Atheletes Protrayed as Role Models. ask Young kids that are playing sports why they look up to atheletes rather than there parents?

I dont believe athletes are portrayed as role models on television, they are portrayed for their athletic ability and what they can accomplish in that given sport but I dont remember hearing anyone on ESPN talking about what a great role model someone is in the realm of professional sports.

Never mind role models. Thats such a bogus concept anyway. If the parent tells the kid steroids are dangerous and why, then its on the kid. Its that simple. No role model is needed so they can be blamed. Im 30 and when I was in HS I contemplated using but I didnt because of the risks involved. I cant even remember where I learned about the negative effects but it wasnt the parent(s). Maybe it was school? The point is that even then kids were informed about the stuff and had some basis for making a decision...and that was 10-15 years ago. If kid wants to drive a car off a cliff whos to be blamed for that? And what about drinking and driving? Its OK to make the kids themselves accountable for decisions they make. Its not like you suddenly become an informed adult magically on your 18th birthday, yet some people act like the kid should be off the hook in all situations merely bcause they were 16 or 17 and not yet 18. LOL. Cry me a river.

Not necesarily....increased velocity for some most is 2-4 mph....for guys like bonds...sheff...they just need to know that guy is hitting that and theyre hand eye coordination will take care of the rest!!!

For players of less stature/caliber it maybe a significant increase enough for them to be too late and fly out to left field...

I kind of said that in jest but in any case, thanks for the analysis.
