Just curious.

Quite honestly, I'm happy there is government intervention. Steriod is a drug, and the way the MLB is taking it lightly, I do feel there needs to be a third party making sure that this is being addressed as seriously as possible.

Conversely, there should be similar intervention with the NBA or any other major sports organization. The NBA is VERY lenient on drug use, primarily marijuana, and that shouldn't be the case. If the government is going to intervene in MLB, it should be doing so in OTHER large professional sports organizations.

Your thoughts?

Congress talks about how the MLB players are role models...what about the 3-4 NBA players getting arrested for marijuana posession yearly and then getting off 'scott free' with some measly community service and a 1,000$ fine...Great example to our next generation!!! Thank You David Stern!!!

Well, Congress probably feels the NBA is overrun by thugs and that people really don't care what they do. They sure know it won't get as much media coverage as the MLB.

Just so everyone knows I am not the be all end all baseball expert. That being said I have followed the game for about 20 years now and still love the game as I did when i was a young boy. The reason I am so pissed is that everyone who has denied anything involving roids and been proven a liar. How can I sit there and buy anything the guys are saying? I cant do it. They are all liars and the game deserves better. We as fans who make MLB run deserve better. Who likes liars? I dont. if people disagree with me thats cool. I didnt post that to start fights, its just my opinion.

I think most everyone one here agrees on:
- Trust has been severed between the fans and the league/players
- We deserve better/truth when WE are basically paying the palaries of many of these athletes

**Side Note
I almost respect Barry more now than BigMac based on his one statement about his roids usage basically cause Mac sat there and wouldnt own up and least say he had an involvement....Bad Career move Mac!! :

"Look we all have a large amount of stress as to provide entertainment to the fans. You know what I am an entertainer, I get paid to entertain, and I think I've done a fair job in entertaining the fans over the years"
--IMO....while what he did was wrong (roids) I was like wow, Barry actually thought about the fan. Not him, his family, or anything else....but he thought about making the game more enjoyable for the fans....

Now I know many of us would rather not have barry on roids/(cheating) or anyone for that matter or break the record, but to actually hear a athlete say I DID IT FOR THE FANS....Its amazing given the EGOS out there like.....Elway(asking to be traded or he wont sign), JD Drew(wouldnt sing peroid because it was the Phillies), Jared Weaver(Demanding too much Money), Manning(Eli - see Elway)
