Granted Folke had a great postseason, he's been kinda ehh over his career and was a little suspect for the Sox during the regular season last year. Certainly Schilling is great, I'd prolly but that combo #2 behind Randy and Mo.

I love how you snuck that in there.

Borowski did a better job for them then Hawkins. The Cubs are badly in need of a quality closer. Maybe they will trade for Dotel since the A's are very confident in Huston Street. They say Street pitches a lot like Dennis Eckersley.
Being a Twins fan I have seen plenty of Hawkins. Its not that he bites, he just doesnt have that special IT that a closer needs to be successful. He can be a devastating setup/relief pitcher though.

Dewon Brazleton and Danys Baez... I just like the way that sounds.

Er, okay... Oswalt and Lidge... because THEY ARE BOTH IMPROVING. As are Santana and Nathan who are a close second.

Unit and Rivera are both too close to the edge for me to take them over the 4 mentioned above. They could be awesome, but they also have a higher likelyhood of being injured or simply a shade of their former selves. I know Rivera is closer to that than people think.

Foulke has had back to back excellent seasons as a closer where he was dominant. Granted he doesn't overpower guys with 95 mph heat but he's still a strikeout pitcher who will avereage close to a k per inning. He may not of had a lot of saves for Boston last season, but he didn't get a lot of opportunities. He had multiple blown saves last year that also were not his fault and were the results of poor defense behind him. He also probably has the best stamina of any closer right now and that counts for something.
