They have the M's ending up in fourth in the West?

I know they wont win the division, but they should be able to finish better than Oakland who lost all their aces or Texas who doesnt even have an ace.

While I agree with you, the M's also have a lot more questions they need to address. Our pitching staff is nearly identical minus one Freddy Garcia and add one Bobby Madritsch...plus Sele and Nelly.

That doesn't mean we'll finish first but I can still see us coming in last especially if our pitching falls through.

And Texas did fine last year without an Ace.

They also added Tim Hudson. I'd take Hudson over Ortiz any day. (Although I still think St. Louis is winning the NL)

Well then, since we dont have an ace, but we aquired Sexson, Beltre and Reed is for sure a Top-3 rookie of the year candidate, we should have similar success Texas had.

I just dont understand why everyone is so high on Oakland this year, they lost Mulder and Hudson, and yes I understand they have some good pitchers coming up this year, but still, they will just be coming up, no MLB experience. Also, Chavez and Durazo will not be able to carry that team offensively.

                How I see the West:
                1 - Anaheim, 90-100 wins
2 - Seattle, 80-90 wins (barring our rotation and bullpen stays healthy)
                3 - Texas, 75-85 wins
                4 - Oakland, 60-70 wins

Well...when have the A's ever had all 3 pitchers healthy at the same time. I've learned that Billy Beane makes the most of his team and budget. I would hate to imagine the kind of team he could build with a larger budget or limitless budget.

I think the LA Angel's are a lock for 1st with the rest of the AL West up for grabs. While the Angel's pitching could get better, they're still the strongest and most balanced team in the AL West.

The M's definitely improved their offense by getting younger and more defensively sound, but their pitching is still very suspect. We are counting on my Hero, Moyer, to rebound to a sub-4.00 ERA. While it's possible, it's also possible for him to replicate his '04 season.

I'll be rooting for the M's as hard as you will, but I will not reach for the stars. Not this year.

You know thats not possible due to them being the Braves. They are worse than the Bills in terms of doing nothing with their potential.

Baseball is the hardest sport to get into the playoffs, and to make it 13? years in a row and win one WS is insane.

                            Definition of underachiever.

I guess the Dodgers of the 40s and 50s were underachievers too then? Oh wait they had to go against the greatest Dynasty in sports history.
