    Definition of underachiever.
I guess the Dodgers of the 40s and 50s were underachievers too then? Oh wait they had to go against the greatest Dynasty in sports history.

They ought to put out an issue at the end of the season to show how wrong they were in their predictions.

Seinfeld Season 4 .. out on DVD May 17!

Interesting you say that. People say that last year's Braves team had no business winning their division. I guess that would make them overacheivers now wouldn't it? You think the '91 team could have possibly overacheived a bit as well?

Then again, I would consider a team not winning one WS in 86 years underacheivers. That's just me though.

I know. Give Red Sox fans one World Series win in the last century and all the sudden they forget about the last 86 years. A little bit of success goes to their brain.

I think we will see a surprise team come out of the NL this season. The whole league seems to have improved, with the only teams that really look dreadful are the Rockies and Brewers (but you could argue more).

                      NFL - Buffalo Bills

SI kind of lost most of it's credibility with me when their player value ranking has Soriano at number 15, while Mark Bellhorn is ranked way back at 168, espcially considering Bellhorn had a higher OPS than Soriano, and is a better defender (not necessarily saying he's better though). While Bellhorn may be a little under rated, I'm more arguing for the fact that Soriano is pretty over rated.

If pointing out the Red Sox past failures really makes you feel better about your team's failure to win a couple post season series, then by all means, go ahead, even though it is a little childish (and I'd like to point out that I don't really even agree with BigTim's point).

It's also nice to know that someone's entire argument can be thrown out the window because of the team they root for, it really makes for great debates.

By the way, the Red Sox have won 5 World Championships in the past century, and six altogether.
