Re: Boston Red Sox - 2006
According to Gammo's latest:
No, the Red Sox did not offer Manny Ramirez for Brandon Wood, Howie Kendrick, Johan Santana and Chone Figgins. And they will wait until spring training to see who needs David Wells and Tony Graffanino, although the Rangers, Cubs and Devil Rays have approached Boston about the reliable middle infielder. -

By Johan, he means Ervin. Where'd you here all this about the Adam Dunn spinoff? I doubt we could net the two top middle infield prospects in the game while gaining Dunn and Figgins. On a smaller, more realistic scale, it's good to hear Graff getting interest.
As for Graffanino, i could see him in Texas. The Rangers are going into spring training with Ian Kinsler, Mark DeRosa and D'Angelo Jimenez competing for the 2B job, i'm not sure about Kinsler but Graffanino would definitly be an upgrade over DeRosa and Jimenez.Comment

Anybody else see that story in the Herald today about the Red Sox making a bid for Clemens? They've put together a video including fans basically begging for the Rocket to come back to Boston that they're going to show him. Sounds pretty clever, though I really can't see Roger leaving Texas.Comment

Clemens coming back to Boston would be the picture perfect ending to an excellent career. I think he will give us 14 wins max. But I would still love to see him come back so that some fans can bury the beef they have with himCeltics-Red Sox-Patriots

Marketing yeah, but the devastating part made me roll my eyes.
Then again, I might be pretty devastated if I had to play for the Red SoxOriginally posted by CardsFan27This is the 3rd time John Calipari has been to his first Final Four! What I'm Currently Listening ToComment

That was a pretty funny article, but the first thing I said to a co-worker when I heard this story was that you can't buy exposure this good. Brilliant marketing for a small team that draws pretty well already...gorgeous field too, played there in highschool a couple times.
btw...who left the door unlocked again for these Yankee fans?...

Growin up in Boston playin LLB, I can tell you I know of 5 kids who didn't play one year because they were selected by the Yankees. So he has a fair point, but yes... It is a GREAT marketing ploy.Comment
