    That....hurt.

Had Pena taken home on that WP Manny could tie it in the ninth.

Time to put Ortiz back in clean up and move Manny up.

Papi will work himself out of his slump, jumbling him around the lineup is stupid.

This loss really sucks. Not to blow it out of proportion because I know it's early on. If I remember correctly from the games we've already played against them, had the sox won tonight, the season series would be at 5-2. Barring a complete collapse we could have another 5 during the course of a season. Which would have given us the season series.

Again I know it's early, just easy to think about this stuff after a crappy loss.

So I see Varitek is hitting .228. Anyone think he's on the decline?

Certainly not Tito since he continues to bat him 5th or 6th.

I think Tek can work out the crapness that he's been thus far, but it's going to be tough watching him the final year and a half or so of his contract.

I think he's probably declining some, but not as drastic as his .228 average suggests. He was battling a muscle pull after the WBC for the first month or so that has contributed to his slow start. I think he'll pick it up over the summer months, then decline a little at the end of the year, which most catchers do.

Add another one to the total 16/16 Papelbon was asked to 4 outs and delivers, he came in and started off where Timlin left off, avoiding runs in the 8th with runners on corners, very impressed by Papelbon, even after Toby Hall fouled off like 10 balls.
18-1 hell of a season regardless

Might have to put the Papelbon avy back up.

That was a game they were supposed to win, and good to see they delivered. I would say tonight's game is the one they're supposed to lose. Wells vs Kazmir is a mis-match at this stage in their careers.

I was there last night near the bullpen. Talk about an electric atmoshphere when Papelbon enters with his song. Indescribable.

Oh and by the way, Willy Mo is 30x worse in the OF live. Just trust me.

Even though Kazmir consistently makes us his bitch, I always like watching him pitch.

22 year old stud. I feel kind of bad he is with Tampa. Picture what could have been if he stayed in NY.

Wright, Reyes, Kazmir, Heilman, and Bannister. Pretty good group of young players.
