Trot with the leadoff walk. Watchout.

Good thing Steve Phillips is informing us about the strategy of drafting college players over HS player because they are less risky.

Moneyball only came out with that, what? 3 years ago?

I wonder if the Yankees ask Sutcliffe to wear a rubber when he calls their games on ESPN?

              Nice ARod impression by Dougie.

Wow, I'm glad I didn't stay in tonight to watch the game.

I just got in and saw the box score, what an inexcusable performance by Josh Beckett, who now has a 5.73 ERA on the season. The guy's stuff has gotten him this far, even got him a World Series MVP, but he needs to learn how to pitch. His command is spotty at best, and alls he really has is his fastball that he can turnover and his curveball, which isn't always reliable. His change is pure garbage and it may be too late to do it at this point this season, but he should work on finding a new grip for his change or learning a split or something because his arsenal stinks. The lineup the Yankees put out there tonight is just plain bad, to give up that many runs is Kansas City-like.

Torre is one of the best managers in baseball, but he still is pretty bad with managing a bullpen. Why throw a guy like Proctor, who has arguably been overworked at this point in the season, in a meaningless game? Seems pretty stupid to me.

I don't even want to address that play in the first, though Francona should.

Tell me about it. Torre is doing the same thing to Proctor to Sturtze. Sturze was having a good 1st half last year and he overused him sooooo much he became useless. I know because we were playing the Sox he didn't want to take any gamble but common.

Anyway should be a good rest of the series.

The beast has arrived. Sox call up Hansen.

I don't see him sticking. Van Buren has pitched well and they just needed an arm after last nights debacle.

True. I followed Hansen since his days at St. Johns so i'm pretty pumped to see how he does. He is after all the future at closer for the Bosox.

He's probably up in case Pauley craps the bed. Hansen can work a few innings if needed.

So is that a new trend at Yankee Stadium?

Curtain calls after every home run?
