That one hurt. I honestly thought Timlin would go a second inning with the lead. Tavarez was the last guy I would have brought in in that situation, but after the first two batters (1 on, 1 out), of the guys left, he had decent odds... BUT -- was the sinker even called on Morneau OR Kubel? Was I dreaming or did he not throw it at all? Either that or it flattened out into a plain-old fastball.
That one hurt.
But on the bright side, FANTASTIC games by Schilling, Papelbon, Timlin, Nixon, Gonzalez, and Youkilis. Just glad it's not September yet.United Leagues

That was a great game, but with a bad outcome (for the Sox, anyways). I'd have to believe that Tavarez's days are numbered with this club. It will be hard for him to bounce back after that horrid outing.Comment
