Rotoworld has up a possible Matt Clement for Craig Wilson going on. Their source is the Pitt. Tribune.

Wouldn't mind that...but it'd be better to get a RH batter.

I'm kinda curious as to how Clement's second year in the AL will go. He'll probably be the same inconsistent guy we've seen his whole career, but I'm still curious.

If we were going to trade a pitcher, my first choice would be David Wells. When you produce like Manny, you can put up with some quirks and a poor attitude. But it's kind of annoying with Boomer. Although it would be tough to see him go because he eats alot of innings (along with many other things) and he's the only LH we've got.

You mean a LH batter? As Craig Wilson is a RH batter. He'd be okay in a platoon with Nixon if Mohr fails, but right now it makes more sense for the Sox to hold onto their commodities until some obvious needs open up. My guess is come July they'll need either a first basemen or third basemen because Lowell looks horrible this spring.

If Willy Mo Pena progresses in real life like he did in MVP '05, you guys just made a hell of a deal.

Yah but we screwed up in trading Hanley Ramirez. Hanley was a 40-40 man every year in my dynasty.

Yeah, and I could never get Wily Mo to be really good against righties, but Hanley was mashing everyone and winning MVP's in my Dynasty!

Seriously though, a 29 year old league-average pitcher for a 24 year old slugging prospect is pretty much a no-brainer. Especially considering the team trading the pitcher already has a surplus of starting pitching. Even if Pena goes on to be nothing better than Ruben Sierra, I still wouldn't call it a bad trade because this is the type of deal you take a chance on.

The Sox claimed Hee Sop Choi off waivers today.

So is Dustan Mohr going to make the team?

Most likely not. the Acquisition of Wily Mo Pena pretty much took away any chance Mohr had.
There have been rumors about a possible trade that would send Mohr to the Phillies for one of Philadelphia's lefty relievers.

Well, that sucks. Maybe if he goes to the Phillies he will get some PT.

WEEI just reported the Red Sox are close to a 4 year $50 million deal for David Ortiz.

                            Wasn't posted:

                            Schilling will start opening day.

                            And Cam...that's great news.

Yah I heard that as well. Initially Francona was saying he wanted the rotation to be Schilling, Wakefield, Beckett, Wells, Clement in order to have Wakefield between two power pitchers.

Also, Wells is starting on the DL and will start April 7th in Pawtucket.

Yeah...they were saying Wells wont be in the majors until mid-April, right around when Adam Stern is going to get sent down.
